Jan. 10, 2010 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | New SSUSA Format I noticed that for Rock 'N Reno and the Western Nationals all the women and most of the men are now on different weekends. Being that many couples play senior ball I feel this is a huge mistake. I know that in my own situation we will not be putting out the money to travel to Reno and Lacey, Wa. on back to back weekends. Given the amount of time that SSUSA still has, wouldn't it make more sense to schedule half the age groups on one weekend and the other half on the next? |
Jan. 10, 2010 Stretch14 Men's 50 202 posts | Rock 'N' Reno is May 29th-June 6th. Western Nationals are July 9th-18th. |
Jan. 11, 2010 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | And..........? What I'm saying is the women play the first weekend and the men play the last weekend at both tournaments. |

Jan. 11, 2010 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | Dbax, Menifee was set up pretty much the same way the week. The majority of men played last weekend and this week while the 55's and women play this coming weekend. More expense will be incurred for couples that play. |
Jan. 11, 2010 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | That's my point. If they set it up so mens' 50's, 55's and women's 40's and 50's played one weekend, and women's 55's, 60's and men's 60's and 65's etc. the next weekend we wouldn't have to travel both weekends. Also some guys would be able to play in two age divisions. |

Jan. 12, 2010 Omar Khayyam 1357 posts | I wonder how many senior softball women players are partners with senior softball men players? In my limited experience of several senior women players, it is 100% married to guys who play senior softball. I know the ratio is different in younger ages where lots of single women play league and tournament softball, but how about those over 50? Anyone know of any stats? This could blow up in SSUSA's face if the correlation is anything like that of the women in my club. |
