Date Change for Birmingham, Al. Warm-up Tourney
Sorry, unavoidable scheduling conflicts.
The tourney is scheduled for Saturday, February 27 instead of March 6.

The tourney will be held at Liberty Park (home of the SSUSA August tourney) in Birmingham. I have more fields available now, so I can take more teams.
At present, I have 10; however, I do understand that the date change may interfere with some team plans. I will re-check with everyone tomorrow (Church tonight).
RR format, 3 game guarantee. $200 entry fee, includes umpires and 3 softballs. We will hit USSSA CLASSIC M, 40 cor. 375 comp.
Open to AA, AAA, and Major. 5 homeruns, then singles. 1/1 count, no extra foul.

As Wazoo stated on my other post, the fields are actually in Vestavia, a suburb of Bham. I just listed it as the Bham area. The fields are located about 10 minutes off of I-20.

As Lefty (Cajun Joe) commented, the fields are really nice. Obviously why SSUSA will hold their tourney there in August. Concession will be open. There are 5 fields, so I would love to have 16 to 20 teams, playing 4 team round robins. Will be completed by sundown.
We will not play if under 50 degrees; do not want to break bats and pull muscles!

I have 7 teams at present. 5 others will let me know by the end of the month. Feb. 15 is cut-off date. I have teams from Al, Ga, Fl, and Tn at present. Would love to have more.

I now have 11 teams. At the new site, we will be able to hit any senior qualified ball that is 44 cor. 375 comp. MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED OR IDENTIFIABLE.

Looking for more teams!

Will all teams be in one division or will you divide them by age and class?

Hey Bruce, primary division will be by age. 50's and 55's will be in one pool, 60's in another, and then 65's.

Most of the teams only want the 3 games guaranteed. We will take one team off each field or whatever works best in order to go to a single elim, so that there will be just one champion and runner-up. Thanks

Joe, I am going to give every team 3 softballs, included in entry fee. However, a team can use those or any of their own as long as they qualy.

I will simply have others available if a team does not have any of their own or just wants to buy more new ones. Thanks.

Everything went smoothly. We got to play four games in not so great weather. The sun was shinning but the wind was blowing.
It was great seeing everyone there!
I thought the 5 hrs then a single was good as was the 7 runs an inning.
Thanks Steve.
