Seems they hit a wall after posting the results thru the 50's.
It must be tougher then it would appear!

My guess would be that they were lost in 1. Snail mail, mix up or lost (lease likely) 2. Accidently deleted, a possibility, 3. Lost the books in Vegas somehow.
Some were done 40 &50's but having to admit a boner is out of the question.
Maybe they are trying to get some other form of 'conformation' on 'scores' beyond actual scorekeepers books and all.
Who knows, maybe they will show up on April 1st or Nov 22, 2010. lol

Gentlemen,

Most of you know who I am. Some of you might not like what I say, and some times SSUSA does not like what I say. One thing for sure is that I say what I believe is 100% the correct information, whether you agree or not. Some times I give my opinions, and some times I give you the honest to goodness facts. You just have to figure out which it is. Tonight I will take the guess work out, and the following paragraph is 100% fact.

To answer the Hemet/Menifee question, SSUSA usually does not post the small tournaments, but the teams/players do it upon request, and on a rare occasion, the director at that tournament might post them. The main concern here is the Vegas Winter Worlds and here are the facts guys, as it pertains to the 55 divisions in particular and/or teams that played at Shadow Rock/Hollywood parks. We all know Dave works very hard to get things done right and on time. He does a great job! The master score board is unattainable at this time for the Vegas Worlds. This is due to the director at the fields, that you must have all known and seen, was very inactive because he was ill. Last that I heard, this gentleman was in the hospital battling for his life, and I believe it was some sort of cancer. I am sorry, but I cannot remember his name. For those of you that played in that tournament, it would be very helpful for Dave and staff, if managers could call up and give him the scores that you have from your games. More importantly, appropriate, and appreciated here and needed, would be many prayers for the director, his wife, and family. Dave can probably fill us in on his situation, when he gets a moment. This is a difficult situation for all concerned, so let's not ask why no one told us, let's just offer our prayers.

Many Prayers,

Andy Smith,
Double Edge

Andy,

Well put. The director in question is Jim Sherman. Jim was being treated for throat cancer and, at first, it appeared the treatment was effective. More recently, though, it has been learned that the cancer has reappeared and has spread to other parts of his body. "Sherm", as he is known by teammates, friends and opponents, and his family can certainly use your prayers.

Sherm, along with SSUSA founder Bob Mitchell, was part of the inaugural class that was inducted into the newly established SSUSA Hall of Fame. A feature article on their selection to the SSUSA Hall of Fame headlined the most recent issue, the 2009 summer edition, of Senior Softball News.

Sherm was the chief safety officer for the Seattle Fire Department for 30 years. Four years ago he proposed that the SSUSA adopt the defribrillator program that now will be in place at all SSWC tournaments in 2010. For the past three years Sherm has trained the SSUSA field directors in the use of the defribrillator and during that time four lives have been saved at SSWC tournaments, including one life that Sherm personally saved.

I have followed Andy's lead and have submitted the scores of my team's (MN Prize 60's) games at the 2009 SSWC Winter Worlds to Dave Dowell. If you notice that the results of your team are not posted please take a moment to gather that information and forward it to Dave. He would appreciate all the help he can get.

Thanks for your patience and help with this matter and please keep Sherm and his family in your prayers.

Steve, Thanks. I only regret we (Oklahoma Turf Pro) did not get a chance to play you guys in the Championship game due to poor planning on our part (flights) and unforeseen injuries. Congrats on your win. Hope to do it again this year!

Dave, I will fax the results of the 65 AAA's with the scores that I have. Only have the scores from our games, Game On. Maybe the other teams have more scores.

Good luck to Jim!!!

Thank you Andy and Steve. To clarify the situation, the delay is completely on me as the T.D. at Las Vegas this past year, regardless of who any individual Field Director was or what other circumstances might exist. It was my responsibility to ensure that all tournament related paperwork was collected and forwarded to Sacramento. In the flurry of activity on Sunday night, obviously a portion of the paperwork "went missing." I was confident we had everything assembled and packed for shipping on Monday. That wasn't the case.

We do have ALL scores and bracket results for every division EXCEPT the games played at Shadow Rock on Friday through Sunday. The afffected divisions, and missing scores, are:

55-MAJOR - All three days
55-AAA - All three days
55-AA - Saturday ONLY
60-AAA - Saturday ONLY
60-AA - Friday and Sunday ONLY

The remainder of the scores will be posted on Sunday (1/24/10). If anyone has missing scores, and is inclined to assist, please print your division, pencil in your known scores, and send by fax to my attention at (916) 326.5304. If you kept your own copy during the tournament, that would also be acceptable to fax.

Thank you for your help, and I apologize for the delay and inconvenience. Again, it's all on me.

Thank you to the Kenny and Gary for sending in your own scores from Shadow Rock. It helped in getting some of the results in place. There are still scores missing for Men's 55-Major, 55-AAA, 60-AAA and 60-AA, although we believe we have the top three finishers in those divisions.

If anyone has any other scores or bracket results they would like to share, please print the applicable pages from the following links, pencil in what you have and fax them to (916) 326.5304. Otherwise, this is as good as it gets!
