| March 11, 2010 Ho 178 posts | New Ohio Tournament Sylvania Just heard of a new tournament in the midwest in SYLVANIA, OHIO (below Toledo, close to Indiana line)JULY 23, 24 and 25. They are going for the whole spectrum 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 and 75. They may even have a women's division. Haven't hear what classifications, but I think they said they would have a separate Major Divsision in the classes so the major teams in the midwest would finally have a tournament they can play. Great fields, National Tournament type complex. Tournament dates were just finalized Wednesday, so watch for the information to surface on the SSUSA tournament site. Jerry Keefe will be the tournament director. Now if Wes's tournament in Kettering gets settled that will give us five tournaments in Ohio next year...Buckeye Classic in Barberton (Akron), Brookpark (Cleveland), Kettering (Dayton), Sylvania (Toledo) and Columbus..we'll add our adopted state tournament in Shelbyville (Duane Laird's Tournament) and East Lansing to the mix and that would be a pretty good midwest tournament schedule. Hope they get SYLVANIA and KETTERING locked in. Ho |

| March 11, 2010 Ho 178 posts | Yep...that is what this section (Ohio,Ind,Mich,Ill, etc) is referred to: the midwest. Can't be called the plains' states because we don'y have any plains. Ho |

| March 14, 2010 Ho 178 posts | Wes was trying for July but not the same week as Columbus...it was either July 8,9, 10 or July 22,23,24 Not even sure if it SPA or SSUSA. Ho |
| March 15, 2010 Dirty Men's 50 1375 posts | Of course the problem there could be a conflict with Sylvania if he goes with tht second weekend. |
| March 15, 2010 Ho 178 posts | You are right he is in a box. But if he goes in late June, he runs into the QUAD CITIES on one side of Indiana and our Buckeye Classic in Ohio and we have 54 AA/AAA in the 60's,65's,70's and 75's coming to it...so that limits the number of teams he has to draw from unless he goes Majors and 50/55's. After the Buckeye Classic he runs into Columbus the second week in July. I still think his best shot is the week after or the week before Columbus. It is pretty tough to start putting a tournament together this late because you will always be running into another tournament. Ho |
| March 15, 2010 Dirty Men's 50 1375 posts | Well, we are playing 50s so if he were to do that it would work for us. :) But I definitely see your point. |
