end caps for combats
is there anyone out there that has some end caps for the 28oz gray balanced combat that would sell me , I keep trying to keep my original Combat in play, but have went thru 3 end caps that have broken when they popped out and now looking for another one, that i can use.So if you have a broken Combat or end caps (must not be cracked )i would like to purchase them, hate to buy another bat when this one is still hot, even though I have had 3 new caps in it. I will pay the postage and anything you want for them, please call me at 812-552-5595 and will give you my address, Thanks, Rabbit

ps- I am not cheap, but really like this bat and cant find anymore , well at least i haven't seen any anywhere

Mine came off and somebody on this board recomended Gorilla glue...So I reglued mine, so far so good..only swong 10 times or so...Question for Trumpball, why you just don't fix the problem the first time...Why send it back to you, do it right the first time so the problem is gone. I personally like the Combat better than the U2 but you have to fix the problem.

Paco13,
That was me that recommended Gorilla Glue........countless swings and it's still on ! Just have to clean the end of the bat real good and follow the instructions.

Thanks for the tips, I have used Gorilla Glue, and J.B.Weld, Super glue, all works for a while, JB Weld was the best , it holds till you hit one off the end of the bat and that does it again, I am sending it back for the second time today, hopefully it will hold this time when they redo it, The Original Combat grey and balanced it a great bat, hated to put it to rest. The reason I don't fix the problem is because I don't own combat. I have been trying to get it corrected for many years now, remeber I fix the bats at no cost so the time and materials come from my pocket.

The bats are so flexable that when you hit a ball near the end the bat flex's and wants to pump the cap out. The new caps are much better but some still come out. I have had more bats than any of you and none of mine have ever come out. So I just keep fixing them.

I want to give trumpball ( kevin ) and naomi @ Anaconda sports props. I had one of my MM senior bat's end cap come loose and they took care of the issue in a timely manor.

Angus I agree, Kevin has took the time to take care of the problem, and he is and has been good to work with, I have no problems with him or his business and Naomi is very friendly and very helpful also. Thanks, Kevin and Naomi, from Rabbit

I had this problem and use marine glue, cap stayed on until bat broke, you will need to wait 7 days to use the bat,

The 3m 5200 is excellent. If the cap is just loose, be careful removing it. Stick the barrel in hot water and it should come off easily. I sanded both the barrel and cap, applied the glue liberally and gave it two weeks. I have not had any problem since.

If I were to glue the end cap myself, would the bat now become an altered bat???

No - An "altered bat" is one that has been modified to enhance performance. This is a repair.

Question for SSUSA staff: why do some umps in some associations disallow the use of any bat that has any rattling inside the barrel?
