DOKER HERE ...WENT LAST YEAR TO DALTON,,,GOOD TOURNEY.....STAYED AT THE TRAVELODGE WALKED ACROSS THE STREET TO A GOOD RESTAURANT THAT HAD TWO FOR ONE BEERS ALL WEEKEND LONG 24HRS A DAY......RENTAL CARS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE IN ATL...I USUALLY USE THRIFTY....AND THE CHEAPEST RATE FOR THE 8THSEP TO 12SEP WAS 68.90/DAY(EXPENSIVE)!!!!!!!!!! BUT BNA(NASHVILLE WAS 47.43/DAY...FOR THE SAME MINI CAR....NOT REAL SWIFT.....MAYBE TRY TAKING MART UP INTO NORTHERN ATLANTA FROM THE AIRPORT AND RENTING OUT OF THE CITY AT ENTERPRISE...JUST A THOUGHT!!!!

You playing in the Heartland? I'll be going with DOC out of Arkansas. From what I've seen, Nashville and Atlanta are almost identical mileage-wise from Chattanooga. Driving up from Atlanta may involve heavier traffic but you have more flight options from Atlanta. Of course, if car rentals are cheaper out of Nashville, that would also be a consideration.

MAD DOG- we decided to fly into atlanta ,total cost 209.00 per person, non-stop both ways. got rooms for 39.00 per day at the quality inn. as far as the car, there will be 4 of us flying into atlanta, that should drop the price substantially once we divide the expense. see ya in austin for the one day tourney on july 10th. frank a.

JR- You might consider leaving Birmingham going up I-59 to Chattanooga and then down I-75 to Dalton. It keeps you out of Atlanta and its traffic.

mad dog: I don't think there is a short cut as to say but if you take I59 to Gadden and pick up US 411, it will take you across the mountain and tie into I75 right above Cartesville, GA which is about halfway between Atlanta & Dalton. A scenic drive but only about half of it is 4 lane. Actually when you get south of Rome, GA you can take GA 53 and it connects with I75 about 30 miles out of Dalton. There are some other routes but I slow and 2 lane roads.

thanks,i was just looking for a short cut,but if the driving time is the same as I59 to I75 guess no sense in doing it.
