Prescott Rain
We also had rain in AZ. Saturday it stopped play and we went to one pitch tourney. Sunday when we left was raining but looked like no one was going to play. We were still in but had 2 injuries. Our big #5 hitter may have torn an ACL, and I went down in the outfield when I tried to stop and feet slid out and landed on my butt-hard. Wet fields and old are a tough combo. When you are 58 your feet should not be over your head when you hit the ground :-) I was not smart enough to see it coming-my bad-also not smart enough to sit down the next game either. So we went home. Rick was doing his best to get it in.I hope you guys were able to get a tourney winner in the afternoon. Rogue-had fun again-twice-fun to play you guys.

That's too bad. You may want to check these guys out for future tournaments. Nice fields and weather www.socalssa.com And the pay money :O)

I would like to thank director Rick S. for working hard to get us 4 games in Sat.(Prescott) After several hours rain delay I saw Rick going out and working on fields himself to make it possible to play 3 more games that day. 1 pitch is not my favorite way to play a game but still gave us a chance to get more games in . It has been a interesting year for us guys playing with CJS, We have taken a lot of beatings this year but after winning it all last year we understand why we are where we are. What a blessing to play this game with friends at our age. Thanks again Rick and rest of staff. G. Ingle

Sometimes a post doesn't come out the way you want it to. Mine above was meant to compliment Rick for his efforts to get the tournament in, and came out much differently. My apologies, because Rick did everything he possibly could and the injuries were not in any way because of him. I was trying to get a weak laugh on the way I got hurt (would have gotten laughs on AFV) and it came out wrong on the post. Sorry to have conveyed things so badly.

GI-thanks-I was stupid and macho and tried to play the next game against Greco and popped up 3 times, twice foul in the one pitch. Shoulda sat down, eh? (Superman syndrome lacking brains) :-)

Thanks Tom at least with helmit I can hide this ugly face. Your homerun in game 4 came at perfect time. Nice to win a game after losing 3 in row in bottom of 7th.

The weather all day Sunday was cool and cloudy. In retrospect, we could have gotten more real games in. Sat was fun though. Watching you clowns take BP in the rain was priceless :)

John your right our young 50 year olds on team have much more energy than the rest of our older guys that set there watching them hit in the rain. HA.
