ASA West Senior Nationals
Are any 50+ (major or major plus) teams planning to play in the ASA West Senior Nationals in Topeka, KS over Labor Day Weekend?

Looks like most of these teams will be at the LVSSA event that weekend.

Hey Brian.
We're looking forward to LVSSA.
Should be a blast.
Great city, bats, balls and rules
players like and are comfortable with.

Don't know why any major team would choose ASA over LVSSA on that weekend!

Money is your answer . We are a 50 major plus team based out of Kansas City.....because the tournament would basically be in our back yard. Topeka, KS is only a 60-90 minute drive for us.

As of today, there are not many 60 teams going to LVSSA: 5 Major Plus, 3 Major(one of which is a Major Plus team allowed to play down), 2 AAA, and 3 AA. This does not sound like enough teams to take on the travel to play over a busy holiday weekend. Cost of 3-4 days hotels, plane fare, rental car, and $625 entry fee. Where are all the teams for this prestiges tournament?? I guess money is a key factor this year for many teams. Maybe some teams will sign up late, but I doubt it at this late date. Sounds like Labor Day Weekend could get canceled.

Okay, other than money! It usually isn't on the Labor Day weekend and it would probably be best for LVSSA to move it back to mid to late September like it's been.

Even though it's Labor Day, they are still starting the tournament on Friday (work day), and not playing on the holiday.

To cut down travel costs, LVSSA should go back to having it on weekends before or after the Huntsman tournament in St. George as there are about 300 teams or so playing during the week in St. George, about 2 hours away or 1 1/2 hours for those that stay in Mesquite. $625. is to much money though and you wuld loose our interest considering we can play in a warm up tournament in Mesquite for 1/2 that cost.
