CATARACTS AND CRYSTAL LENS OPERATION
any of you boys had the above procedure done ? QUESTIONS: 1) did it work ? 2) any regrets ? 3) approx cost per eye ? 4) how long before getting back to normal softball play ? 5) did it affect your softball play. i am considering this operation before the end of the year, but it sure sounds scary with results not being 100 % for some patients. any feedback would be greatly appreciated. frank a.

Spouse had both eyes done at age 54. We were told only could be done once, standard lens was covered by insurance, upgrade was $1800 per eye. We went with the upgrade. Recovery time is fast, a few weeks. She swears it's well worth it. My turn is probably coming.

Just had both eyes done. One was with Toric lens and other standard. Easier than going to the dentist. Results were amazing. Cost $4,700 of which $1,100 was for the optional Toric lens. Return to full activities including softball within a week.

The Toric is for correcting your vision. I was 20/200 in that eye and am now 20/20. The other eye did not need that much correction and I am now 20/20 with the standard lens in that one. You can only have this done once so get the Toric if they say it will help you.
