Dec. 4, 2010 SteveSimmons 66 posts | Ridge Hooks has been hospitalized For those of you who know Ridge Hooks, SPA executive director, I have just been informed by Don Ward of North Carolina, one of Ridge's SPA directors, that Ridge has suffered a series of mini strokes. Ridge has been hospitalized in Oklahoma. That is all the information I have at this time. Ridge on many occasions has comforted a fellow senior player with a word of prayer. I know, he took me aside during a rough spot in my life and shared a prayer with me. It helped. Now is the time for all of us to share a prayer with Ridge. |

It was a long day for all of us at SPA with prayers that Ridge would recovery would be fast, and the Drs said his feeling in his arm and leg is back and he is recoveing is good. It will be slow for Ridge because of his fast pace hopping around the country promoting senior softball. Miss Ann is by his side and will help him slow down a little. they said he already trying to plan what he had to do net week. But thanks to all our friends for their prayers. Like Steve and Larry and others Ridge has prayed with me so many times hat really helped me in my time of need. His honesty and integrity has no match in senior ball again thanks for your payers Don Ward SPA softball Southern Elite/Reebok 50's |

Dec. 5, 2010 stick8 1992 posts | I've only known Ridge Hooks for 3 years by playing in the SPA nationals in Dalton. During my first year there he went out of his way to take me aside and give me pointers on senior softball. I really appreciated that and took his advice to heart. He also couldn't thank our team enough for playing his tournament. I firmly believe he meant that from his heart. And he does this for every team that plays in his tournaments. If we had more people like Ridge Hooks our world would be a much better place. Get well soon Ridge!! |
