Ridge Hooks has been hospitalized
For those of you who know Ridge Hooks, SPA executive director, I have just been informed by Don Ward of North Carolina, one of Ridge's SPA directors, that Ridge has suffered a series of mini strokes. Ridge has been hospitalized in Oklahoma. That is all the information I have at this time.

Ridge on many occasions has comforted a fellow senior player with a word of prayer. I know, he took me aside during a rough spot in my life and shared a prayer with me. It helped. Now is the time for all of us to share a prayer with Ridge.

Many has been the time Ridge has taken myself or my team aside and prayed with and for us and our loved ones. Steve, please keep us posted as Ridge improves.

Ridge Hooks is a man of great integrity and honesty. He is and has been an inspirational leader and ambassador for the world of Senior Softball.
We need more people like him in our game.
I can only hope and pray that he has a speedy recovery. My thoughts are with him and his family.
I have a tremendous amount of respect for Ridge as a man.
If anyone comes across any updated information, please keep us all posted.

Steve
thanks for letting our softball brothers know about Ridge. It was a long day for all of us at SPA with prayers that Ridge would recovery would be fast, and the Drs said his feeling in his arm and leg is back and he is recoveing is good.
It will be slow for Ridge because of his fast pace hopping around the country promoting senior softball.
Miss Ann is by his side and will help him slow down a little. they said he already trying to plan what he had to do net week.
But thanks to all our friends for their prayers. Like Steve and Larry and others Ridge has prayed with me so many times hat really helped me in my time of need. His honesty and integrity has no match in senior ball
again thanks for your payers

I've only known Ridge Hooks for 3 years by playing in the SPA nationals in Dalton. During my first year there he went out of his way to take me aside and give me pointers on senior softball. I really appreciated that and took his advice to heart. He also couldn't thank our team enough for playing his tournament. I firmly believe he meant that from his heart. And he does this for every team that plays in his tournaments. If we had more people like Ridge Hooks our world would be a much better place. Get well soon Ridge!!

Dear Ridge.

Please know that all of us here in Omaha who know you and have played in your SPA tournaments will be praying for you, just as you have prayed for and with many of us these past several years.

You are a wonderful Christian leader and great example for all of us.

We come to you today Lord asking that You wrap your loving arms around Ridge Hooks, his wife, Ann, and their family as you provide healing, comfort, peace, and understanding as only you can do as the Great Physician

Let us be reminded Lord, that eternal comfort and hope come to them through your son, Jesus Christ, according to the following scriptures.

"Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God our Father, who loved us and through grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope, comfort your hearts and strenthen the in every good work and word." Thes, 2:16

We love you and thank you Lord for hearing our prayer, "For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them." Matthew 18:20. Amen.

Last Summer, I spoke to Ridge by phone about some softball matters. During our conversation I happened to mention my 6 year old granddaughter facing a kidney transplant. Without further ado, Ridge proceeded to have prayer with me concerning her great need. That says much about him. He certainly needs our persistent prayers now, as well as his family.

To all who are in close contact with Ridge. Please relay that his buddy from Cheyenne is praying for a total and speedy recovery. For those who do not know Ridge has a Wyoming background years ago, Casper Wyoming. We have talked several times about it. He is a man of deep religious roots and is always concerned about others and now it is time to repay some of that respect as we all pray for him and his family in this time of need. God bless Ridge. As of today, January 10, this is the latest posted on the SPA web site regarding Ridge's condition, "Ridge is doing very well. He has been in the office conducting meetings the last few days and has added 10 new tournaments to the SPA's tournament schedule."

Sounds like the Ridge we all know and appreciate.
