Capt. K. problem San Antonio doesn't have a complex big enough to hold a THC with all division playing. They may have to look at how the Fla Half century does it. With 50&65 playing one weekend and 55,60 & 70+ playing another another, both are normally played at two diffent locations, hosted by one of the local teams in team with FHC. This is done without playing on friday.

Mass expand at Ft. Sam has caused three fields to be no more. They are very limited on space, you should see all the new buildings.

JB, that is an excellent suggestions on how to accomdate all teams with limited # of playing fields. THC has hosted a tournament in Boerne, TX for last three (3) years I know that Boerne is not on their schedule for 2011, I don't know if they would setup there on separate weekends, but a great idea. Also, our team enjoyed playing in Georgetown in May to get ready for the Texas State Championship in June. San Antonio needs a softball complex that will support senior softball tournaments, min. of a four (4) field complex that meets SSUSA Field Specs.

Problem is Keith and Larry have limited help and to do each tournament on two weekends would drive them crazy, part because they both still play but mostly lack of help. THC would have to get help at each site by a host team to do it and I don't know if they are ready to move in that direction. Last year's Boerne tourney just about killed any chance of going back there, most teams don't what to go back because what happen last year.

JB,getting a host team would be nice, they could give that team a price break for that tourney.i do know tyler has a 5 field complex that would work, along with a 4 field in longview, longview's prol tho is short fences with a ditch and trees behind the fences on 2 of the fields.longview would be great for the older groups.

SA doesn't have any complexs with at least 4 fields, what about Time Warner.

8 great fields but super costly for the fields plus you have to use their umpires and balls which are real expensive. Ava Joe fence are to short for sr bats.

I asked about tournaments in Texas. Fran said Fidel has been asking to run a tournament in Austin. I want to run one in Houston [or Baytown]. She said Keith was in charge of our region. Austin and Houston should have tournaments.

LP,
Fidel is a good guy, but his tournaments are not ran right. We have gotten screwed more than once, may try one again and see if there any better than they were.
I am thinking of getting with Tanel and doing a TEXAS CHAMPIONSHIP here in Austin. If it goes, will be real umpires and GREAT PRIZES............MORE TO COME. Let me know if teams would be interested and I will get to work on it !

NSA tournaments are good 47 core balls but not ultras. I need to call Fran and plead our case. I would be glad to come to Austin and help. I have a Daughter in Bee Caves I have recovered from knee replacement and not playing on a tournament team
