Batting order
Hey guys,
I was wondering how most teams make up their batting order?
I have always been one who believes that there is a different between a Hardball line-up & a Slow-Pitch line-up.

Hardball line-ups are usually made up of speed with little power as Ur lead off. Speed & a little power as Ur #2 hitter & power 3 thru 6 with, Ur less consistent hitters bring up the rear. But with a slow pitch line-up, I believe your BEST most consistent hitters should be in the front of the batting order, with ur most consistent Power hitter batting in the 3 hole, hitters 4 thru 8 should be Ur smarter Bat control hitters regardless of power, as they seem to come up with runners in scoring position.

The 2 Hole should be your overall best hitter, including power, smarts & bat control!
I’ve always thought that Ur best hitters should be able to get the most at bats in a game! Regardless of their speed & power.
What you guys think?

I agree with you , your 3 best hitters should be in the top 3. Which order they are in depends on the level you are playing. In AAA I would lead off my best on base percentage guy, 2nd hitter would be the best average hitter who can handle the bat from line to line. The 3rd hitter would be my best HR and average combination hitter. In the upper divisions you just move your HR hitters up farther in the line up. I've seen teams in the major+ division lead off their best HR and average hitter.

You are right in saying that this is not hardball. Line up is set up totally different.
