WHY ???????????
do the 60's have to play on fridays for just qualifier's and such.i can see for nationals when there are 100 teams or more, but not our back yard tourney's.over half of the 60's still work, that eats into their vacation time,b/c of having to take off work and such.also most of the wives work and that means they have to take off if they want to go.doesn't leave a lot of time for family type vaca's.
another thing,is a lot of the time we have to play into sunday so that means we have to pay for 3 nites of lodging while the 50-55's only pay for 2(along with the older div's that play only 2 days during the week).why does the 60's have to bear the brunt of this.
i know of a couple of teams that now have to really pic and choose their tourney's b/c of this, and have decided if it is a friday start they prolly won't play.

if the 60's have to do it why not make the 50-55's do it....

Comes down to number of fields at tournament site, they need to get the 65-70 out of the way Thur-fri and 60 Fri-Sat to get the 50-55 in on Sat-Sun. SPA is trying to go only two days for the 60's Fri-Sat. With them now adding a 40 division in some cases it will only get worse. Just aren't many 8 fields complex's to allow all to play Sat-Sun. Need to go the way of the Florida Half Century league, go to two weekends, one 50-60, one 55-65&70. Play is only on the weekend.

I agree with you mad dog, but the 50's & 55's play the same way the 60's do, Friday through late Sunday. It could be worse, when I first started in senior softball, they were making us start these tournaments on THURSDAYS!

Two days is all that is needed for most of these tournaments leading up to the real nationals in Phoenix, not all these other tournaments that are CALLED nationals.

There are way to many playing divisions and age groups and there are a lot of tournaments that only have a half dozen teams or so in them, these can easily be played in two days.

Expand the age groups, drop a division and get enough teams in these tournaments to warrant playing them in three days.

Jawood, you are spot-on with your post. Especially with paragraphs two and four.

JB,got to agree on splitting them up.we hear that a tourney is going to be a fri-sat,and then get there and they tell us that if we go to the champ game that will be sunday morning, that is BS.......have to come back for 1 game........well most of us are left scrambling to find rooms saturday nite,i do priceline and get decent prices for my room to cut costs of traveling, but when they do this i'm left without a room for the last day.had it happen to me last year, the only thing that bailed me out was bad weather canceled the last 2 days.

jawood,i have never seen the 50-55's have to play on a friday day or nite for a qualifier.yeah all these nationals are getting to be a joke....

your right on as usual mad dog alot of folks think the 60's dont work, we had to make a decision so we skipped SPA tournaments to make as many as we could of SSUSA but will still miss some. we wont ever have the same team twice i dont think, for not everyone can get off on fridays. we are skipping the texas state tournament so we can play in others.

all four qualifers in Texas SSUSA all start on Friday this year and are listed as 3 days events. All the SPA's start Friday also but have said they will try to finish(Fri-Sat) in two days, we'll see.

yes JBTexas i have been thinking about what would be a good date to have the ssusa clubs and leagues tournament. i was thinking about the second weekend of sept. let me know what you think of that date. i know you all go to SPA nationals so if its to close to that i'll move it.

that would cut it real close to Dalton time-frame. But pick a date and don't move it just because of us. we'll be there if possible.

wes,i have never had a prol with games at nite,as our league plays at nite as most do.yeah it is a little hard to see at times(especially at dusk)with the yellow balls, but see no prol playing at nite.

our team's prol with your tourney would be the distance to travel to get to.we already have 3 long distance tourney's on the schedule now,(spa-dalton,ga;rocking reno-reno,nv;ssusa worlds-phx,az).

good luck with your tourney.
