What About BAT BAGS?
OK

I am thinking about buying a new bat bag.

So how about some suggestions?

I was looking at the Boombah Beast.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

I like the Boombah beast; I've had mine for two years + and have taken it on several air trips and it has held up well. It can hold up to 8 bats in the end and sides OR I use the sides to hold uniform stuff. Good choice.

What do the more expensive bags do that the $15.99 Rawlings bag I just bought this evening at a local closeouts store doesn't. My new bag carries my weighted bat, practice bat, warm-up bat, batting gloves, fielding glove, towel, water bottle, shoes, some balls, and a water bottle.

What else do I need?

Nice thread, Full Monty. I need to buy a bat bag, too. My Miken is wearing out in about every way possible. I am looking for something with wheels (I have had to park as far as three blocks from a park) as my old geezer shoulder won't handle the strain. Keep the ideas coming, guys, including Gary with his $16 Rawlings.

Gary, When I travel to tournaments, I take two gloves (I play OF and 1B), two pair of shoes (cleats and turf shoes). I wear the cleats if the OF is slippery. I have several bats I bring, some just for BP so I won't use my game bats. I also keep extra socks. undershirts and jackets if the weather changes as it often does especially early in the season. I also keep snacks in some of the side pockets in case concessions aren't open or we don't have time to get anything. PLUS it has WHEELS so I don't have to lug all that crap!

Double L, I can understand all that.

Just wondering, why the multiples of both BP and games bats? Do you use different ones in different situations? Like maybe one if you are in a bunker, another for the rough, a third to putt with? :)

Don't even look at a bag that doesn't have wheels.

I use a Miken bag we won for the drive in the car tournies.

I use the large Boombah for the airplane ride tournies. I think my bag is in its 4th year. Wheels are solid and it has survived the baggage handlers abuse quite well.

another vote for tanel, love it.
Pleanty of room, long enough so you don't hit your heels while pulling it.
Has a shelve in the middle. Stay away from the elite. It has gone down hill in the last 4 years, breaks easy, has no shelve so it's one big compartment in the middle and only has storage on one side of the bag.

Boombah Beast is an excellent bag. I've had 2 in the last 7 years. Great for Air trips, all your playing clothes will fit along with bats and gloves.

I like what I see in 360 RAGE bat bag.

But I didn't see what material the bag is made of.

600 denier,
canvas
or
what?

Full Monty,
It's made of Heavy Duty 600 Denier I believe..it really is a great bag. We have one player who has had the "same" bag since 2005, it's faded and we keep ragging him about ordering a new one. And if you have "any" problem, their customer service is the best.
Let me know if you need anything else.

I really like the ULTIMATE BAT BAG. Have with and without wheels. Google Ultimate Sports Bat Bags in Denver. Ask for Obie or Bunnie. Really like mine. Surf

The design of the RAGE makes it difficult to carry bats in the outer pockets; if you don't pull the strap over the bats, the pockets will tear. I have seen several Tanel bags similiar to mine torn. Tanel will give you a discount on a new one, but I have not seen a torn Boombah and it is my wheeled bag preference.

If you read the paper that comes with the rage, it tells you "not" to put bats in the 2 end sleeves as you pulling it. They are for when you get to the park, take them out of the zippered compartment at the end of the bag and after you hang it on the fence, then you can put them in those two sleeves............some of my players on my Tanel team did not read the paper enclosed, and the same thing happened to get. Got them replaced, but it sure doesn't hurt to read the instructins firts.

My wheeled bag of choice is the Gearguard No Errors Dinger bag. The Fatboy wheels give plenty of clearance & roll over all types or terrain. As long as you get the 2010/11 model, there's no issues regarding bats.

My non-wheeled bag of choice is a Vinci Players bag. It's just a good basic bag with plenty of room & built to last. Too bad they don't produce them anymore.

The Rage is a great bag. You can pack your clothes in it when you fly. Only have to check in one bag that way. Lots of space and pockets. No problems in 3+ years.
