hitting flaw
After an amazing year last year ive had problems this year with my swing.Ive always hit alot of home runs and never had a problem getting the ball in the air. However this year i seem to be hitting down on everything and even though im hitting it hard for basehits, i cant seem to get anything into the air.My question is has anyone else had this problem and what did they do to cure it

For me it's usually pitch selection. Try moving up in the box so you are catching the ball higher.

big cat-I don't know too many guys that would be good enough here to tinker with your swing the way you hit the ball. I don't profess to be one of those. However, I had a stretch once of around 25 games without a dinger. It bothered me a lot, even though I was hitting over .800 for the stretch. In retrospect, I didn't change anything-just kept swinging as I always have and when the power returned, it was like 15 in 6 games or something like that. As long as you are hitting it hard, I wouldn't be too concerned. If you start popping up, that's different and may be mechanical. For me, it was don't overthink it! Trust your swing. If only we all had a swing like yours to trust!

Respectfully,
Your Albuquerque connection-Mark Weber

Thanks for the comments webbie, but how do you know that i have such a great swing?Ive been watching alot of videos on you tube and i may have come across something. I remembered a tip from mike macenko about if youre hitting alot of grounders bring your elbows in closer together and i realized that unknowingly my right elbow had gotten very high and separated from my body.On all the videos i watched all the good hitters had that right elbow tucked in close to the body.As soon as i can get out im going to try that and see if it works.
