| Aug. 8, 2011 Shark Men's 60 99 posts | 3 Game Bracket Scheduling I would like to propose to SSUSA to abolish the 3 game bracket guarantee scheduling format from tournament play. Here are my reasons why: 1. Instead of a guarantee of 5 games in tourney you can have 2 game round robin with double elim bracket play. By doing this you can hold entry fee increases per tourney by eliminating 1 game guarantee from each team. Many teams in a tourney already play over 5 games in a tourney. 2. Most team managers I have talked to dislike the 3 game bracket format because sometimes teams may end up ahead of them in the bracket depending when they win or lose during bracket play. Also teams often end up playing a team they already played earlier in the bracket play. 3. Easier for teams to follow the schedule in a regular double elim format. 4. Easier for a director to schedule the bracket without having to worry about whether or not a "3rd game" for a team will be played or not. What do other managers think of this ? | Aug. 8, 2011 Enviro-Vac Men's 65 489 posts | We (our teams) enjoy playing as many games as we can and enjoy meeting & playing all the great teams we encounter at most tournaments so prefer as many games as we can get but also understand the need for limiting the number of games therefore, would not have an issue with a 2-game RR and double elimination but prefer the system now used with a 5 game guarantee. |
