Winners I saw before leaving were: Who Cares Bad Seed Longhorns Congratulations all you guys and all the rest. Officials did a great job. John Reedy and all the umpires, Fritz, Jimmy and rest way to go. We finished 4th after a 4 way tie for first place in the upper division was settled by a slide rule to discover who had let in the least runs. Great time, great teams, great friends and satisfying softball. We used Baden Fire balls and lively bats. No one got really hurt beyond normal bumps and bruises expected when going all out to win a championship. But one game was lethal and gaudy as can be. With 'exploding bats and balls' we played the East Bay Oldies a major plus national champion in a game where only 5 total runs were scored in 7 innings. 5 run innings served to keep teams from running away with any game and a good to great time was had for all. We got the best players and the best senior association in the country and we love to play with lively bats and balls. |
