Wow thanks for the heads up, that is a big deal and we as a softball family need to keep our eyes open during the week. Do not help the thieves make a living just to save a little on a bat.

Mad Dog, sorry to hear about the theft. That would be about $40,000 worth of bats. Keep an eye on E-Bay and Craig's list Phoenix.

First I heard of it. I'm on the case! Guys, start checking Craigslist and let me know if you come up with anyone trying to sell them. What hotel was this? Was it in Phoenix?

I can go undercover as an old softball player. :)

Seriously, let me know.

I just looked up where the host hotel is. Inn Place at Metrocenter. I have no doubt the suspects came from the Premier Inn just across the street. If anyone is staying at the Premier or the Inn Place, do NOT leave anything in your car. Premier Inn is one of the worst places for crime in the Valley. You will see a police van there every morning M-F hauling people away. Bad guys get a break on weekends.

A gut is the first thing they look for when being a senior softball player.

I was at the Complex in Chandler, AZ. this weekend, and not a word on Combats being sold or up for sale. A lot of folks had not even heard of the theft of the bats. Sorry mad dog, a lot of us were looking to forward to these thieves being caught.

I heard from the Tanel guy on Friday that they caught some of them. The cops were in their hotel room, where quite a bit of the stuff was, and the idiot opened the door, saw the cops, and started running, lol. The chased him down the hall and caught him. He proceeded to roll over on some of the other guys. That’s all I heard, and it was hearsay, but I hope it was true. DBAX should know the whole story.

WOW, I didn't hear about. I did stop by and talk to the Tanel and Combat guys last Friday. They didn't mention anything about being robbed.

When I first saw this thread, I thought we were talking about a few players on my team who refuse to spring any $$$ to buy their own bat and constantly use mine or others until they break and then go use somebody elses.

Too me-that's a bat "thief"

A local pub bought us two new Miken Ultra II's for doing business with them once or twice a week after our games-----we designated those bats "team bats" so anybody who couldn't afford one could use them and even put a strip of yellow tape on the bat grip so they were easily spotted. Very Nice for the pub to spring $400 bucks BTW----:)

Guys still using my bat-------why I ask them, when we have team bats (28 and 30)???? Because they "like mine better" :(

That's ^^^^a "bat thief"

Done with my "at bat" and in to score, or after an out, I decide to put my bag IN MY BAT BAG till my next at bat------next inning it's back in use, taken OUT of my bat bag--------Two Years and Six Mikens later due to excessive swings, and $$$$$ from MY wallet???????

Those ^^^^ are "Bat Thieves"

I have a good friend who is one of the "bat thieves". He's a big hitter and has the same bats in his bag that I have in mine. He hinted that he wanted to hit with my newest bat. I didn't say anything. When he finally asked me directly if he could use it, I just said no. It was in front of the entire team and I think that he got the hint. It's tough to just come out and say don't use my bat, especially to a friend, but sometimes it's the only way.
