won3, I'm just asking because we have to live in same general area??? I'm in Mentor 30 minutes east of Cleveland, also 50's.

Potential new 50's team coming together. A few guys I recruited for a "new" team, backed out this past week to stay with their former teams. My remaining crew might be merging with another team, at least in negotiation stages as of today.

We are "likely" not going to play major this year, although with the potential cast of characters it appears "might" come together-----it could be possible. I think we'd want to start in AAA and see where chips fall though.

Hey 17;
Why not check out the SILVER LEAGUE (barberton,Ohio..500 members and 35 teams).

http://silverleaguesoftball.com/

You can't bring your team in as a unit but there are currently individual players from the BUCKEYE CLASSICS;OHIO SILVERADO's; STEEL DAWGS; MITCHEM's 65's;ECSM PROPERTIES (SMITH ELECTRIC); BRENNAN"S AKRON 70's; AKRON 75's travel teams playing on different teams in the League.

Your 50's Division is a double-header league either on Monday or Wednesday night (can't remember the day). Same for the 55's league.

Although you can't go in as a team (it is a draft league), you will probably have at least two-or-three of you on the same team (eight team league)..the important thing isn't so much that you are playing as a team but rather that you are playing somewhere.

The complex is the same complex THEE BUCKEYE CLASSIC is played. Four fields, lights, dugouts and 300-ft fences. The season is 24-games plus league play-offs and league tournament. Starts in May end in August, also has a Fall League.

Check it out

About all you can try right in the area is Northern Ohio Printing out of Maple. Do you know Jim Bubsey?

I thought so, but they could be a viable option for you. Just not a lot of Major+ teams nationwide, much less in this area.

won3 e-mailed me and he is an outstanding player whom I've played against many, many times, mostly when we were not as "mature" as we are now.

BTW how do you keep looking like a 35 year old (or younger)???

I agree with Gary19, Cleveland Area (east side), no Major Plus that I know of, however, if anybody could point you in the right direction, it's probably Shelly Hoffman.

Gary19: doesn't Maple put together an all-star team that travels to Major/Major Plus though??? I think they had a team go to Florida sometime around Thanksgiving???

Gary, not that I am aware of. Their "all-star" team that travels is essentially the Northern Ohio Printing team that is made up primarily, I believe, of guys from that league.

At least that is the impression I have from stopping up there off and on during the season and talkig with their manager. I think that is the team that went to Florida.

I think he said last year that he wasn't, but he is still involved and backed a couple of teams in their league last year.
