Any work from you "buyers" on the Veteran Core Bat
'Brain' faarrrt going on, am wondering if those of you who paid WELL IN ADVANCE for this bat, have yet you received any notice of the delivery of said bat.
"Introduce by May" was posted March 12 by Mac 21 for this and I as one who questions many things would say gather your email or regular mail recipes and all get together as a pool. Who knows you might end up with a "bat factory". I am talking about the possibility of 'conspiracy to defraud' charges on these guys. After all what's it been two years or so?
But what is introduce since he has a video up on the web site that shows the bat so I would think that constitutes introduction... if that his "out" I'd go after him but I did not put out money for one.
Food for thought at least.
I still hope it works for you all who have invested in this but little has been shown along with the thought that why would they only have one bat... or was that really "that bat" the concern is about or another designed to look like one ie painted and end cap finished off to resemble that feature...
Kinda like the Decker Jump bat which was closed off. I sent them pics of that bat which I tested back then for Decker.
Yea, I am bored.

Taits, no need for all that. I believe that they had good intentions but a horrible business plan. This bat business is an oversaturated market, they made a mistake and underestimated the magnitude of the enormous task that were about to venture in. We all make mistakes and some costlier than others. Hopefully they find a way of making work and make some money and are able to do the right thing by us…but if not, just imagine how much they probably lost and what they have put their families through. Let’s hope for the best…if nothing else for their own sake and their families. Personally is only $200.00 to me that is nothing in comparison to their possible losses. I understand what You are saying, but let’s just wait another few months.

Que el senor los bendiga…GOD BLESS THEM

Paco, perhaps that is what they were counting on. Will forget and move on, and get away with it.
Think that should have been in a verbal or written form when buying. not a 'pre-order' deal with something actually expected in return.

Paco,
Please do not take what I said as totally negative, but my reason was primarily due to the originators history. That I know about: Miken left for some unknown reason**, on to Rip-it where the yellow Elite was made but they knew full well it would be banned due to no testing stamps or assn stamps, and not the Vet. Core issues.
**reason, I figure are the grey Ultra which was developed at least in part by same person on these others in question. Likely knowing it was way beyond any standard that may have been in effect at that time. Awesome bat.
Heck, there is still two weeks left in the month... :>$
Just do not like anyone getting burned.

I didn't order one, but obviously many did, including some in our league.

Two years? Trust me, that money spent on bat orders is long gone....long gone.

There is now no financial motivation to deliver. Maybe I'm wrong, OK?

I'm sure there are a lot of pre-orders that have been refunded right? Yeah, really.

If it looks like a duck, walks like....well you know the rest....

Thanks taits, but the video says nothing about which organization this bat will be used in... great sales pitch for investors!
To those who prepaid I wish you luck getting your bat but after all it's now the middle of April 2012 ... hope this guy in the video isn't a Snake Skin Salesman.

I think Gates said it was to be for seniors. If that's the case it would need to be stamped with a BPF of 1.21 or less.
I did not see any stamps on the bat shown, so yea, another concern about being had as it were.
Anyone in the area for these guys might want to pay a surprise visit and see what the true story is. Might go with another player so you have a witness as well.

On the other side, perhaps the process for having it tested is in motion, but I would think this steve guy would have let you know that because of all the time if for not other reason. Course he could do that anyway if not around by May. Videos cam by removed so take a screen capture and have his pic.

Last response I got from Steve[smckinlay@gmail.com] was Feb 5 this year when he said the Veteran Core should be ready by May. Since then I've sent him 3 more emails asking for updates and posted twice in this forum in a Veteran Core thread he posted in, but nothing since Feb 5 ... and YES, I paid $99 for a bat in Sept 2010 and so far I'm still swinging in the breeze.

At 99 bucks it would be a great buy if it actually had pop, durability, and was actually available in May.

One possible way you might chat with Steve McKinley in person in Vegas this month. He is DemolitionŐ/GSC's sponsor. He is #21.
Tell all who are interested where he will be. Take a look at the schedule for the mixed 50s\55's major Plus in platinum div at Arroyo Grande park.
Should be a good setting to get some info. That being public and all.

Those of you attending Vegas this month should consider checking the Demolition sched (50\55M+) and try to have a friendly chat with him in public.
You know what they say about word of mouth adversing, its the cheapest and can make you or break you.
Questions you might consider asking are:
1. Has the bat been tested?
2. If not, why not & will it be? If not, you've been had. if down he road, I think the other still applies (been had). Bat is worthless without testing\stamps.
3. When can the pre orders be expected to be fulfilled (mailed out)?
4. If those answers are positive you might ask will the 99 dollar price still be the cost and have the 1 year warranty?

This could apply to anyone interested in the answers received whether of not did the pre-pay thing on the bat. Others I'm sure would be interested as well. I sure would be.

This is Steve McKinlay. As I have previously posted, our toll free number is 888-459-7040. (ChiPrimeMarty--I have not received your emails so call me at this phone number). This line comes directly to me. I do not like emails. I will be happy to talk to anyone that has questions or concerns about the bat. I will be in Vegas, #21 on Demolition GSC if you would like to speak to me directly. GSC is not just building a bat, it is building a bat factory. A true OEM in the United States. It takes time and I will not release this bat before it is to my standard.

I and I'm sure the pre-order guys are more concerned about meeting the Bat BPF 1.21 standard with legal stamps. etc etc, as well.
Still only looking out for the ones not speaking up.
Good luck in Vegas, wish I was going, ie could afford to go.

Dbax,
You might say it was their 'seed' money to get all up and running. Dout it would be offered.
Would be interesting to find out just how many did this over the wide spectrum of states and possibly all ages.
The age thing would come from how bat was rated in the BPF standard. But if push were to come to shove as they say, that would be available. Not a pleasant thought though. But I know you know that...

This is Steve McKinlay again. I would like to clarify my position on the bat refunds. I partnered with Bill Gateley in GSC in January 2011. The bats that he sold were in 2010, prior to my involvement in the company. It did not take long before I discovered that China was NEVER going to be able to build a durable bat. In March we began to search the United States for a manufacturer. It was not until Bill Gateley was forced to exit GSC and sign over his ownership to me, and my posting as such on the Message Board, that I became aware of all these pending refunds. Bill never disclosed to me the volume of refunds he had promised. These refunds are legally not my responsibility. They are Bill Gateley's. However, because I will have a bat to offer in exchange, I am willing to do so. My goal has always been to put a good bat in the hands of senior players.

Not to argue you "deal" with Gates, but it is nice to have bits and pieces of info flow as often as it does...rarely.
Perhaps answering the questions posed 5 threads above might alleviate many questions in Vegas when you also have a game to worry about. I think it's called Public Relations.
I'd personally like it since I can't be there to do it. You've rtead them but haven't chose to reply, WHY?
May is only 10 days away.
Have a good weekend Steve.

Taits, not sure why are you trying to stand for us...we don't need any help. So what is your beef, you didn't buy a bat so bug out. Mac 21, I believe that I perhaps met you at VA Beach when I met Bill. What you are planning to do and send us a bat at some point is comendable. By just reading this board I don't believe that there are that many of us that are still waiting for a bat. However, I believe that once the bat is out a lot of people will try to get on band wagon and try to rip you off by trying to get a free one. Hope you do well and at some point you can do the right thing by us. Have a nice tourney and don't worry about Taits.

PACO, no need to tell taits to bug out, that's not very considerate. taits is on this board alot, and treats people with respect. i enjoy and appreciate his imput. he has wisdom. i bought the veteran bat in sept. of '09.it was a dud and i sent it back.i was offered the newer version 2 piece, but declined, as bill gates said a better version would be made in the u.s. in a few months. i've waited a long time. i left steve a msg. 2 or 3 months back, he called me the NEXT MORNING. he sounds like a man of his word, and i do believe he will send my bat on the 1st shippment. as i recall, he said the MIDDLE OF MAY.
