May 19, 2012 17Black Men's 60 414 posts | Define "Fully Sponsored Team" please I Co-sponsor a team that plays in a league and tournaments League Entry Fee Paid For Full Uniforms including two or three sets of jerseys, Nice pants, hats, mock turtles paid for. All Umpire Fees for season paid for in league. All Tournament Entry fees paid for. Occasional dinner tab or bar tab paid for (Certainly NOT ALL) Myself and my co-sponsor DO NOT pay for travel. No Airline tickets, no hotel rooms, no meals, no gas for cars----------Guys on team all good about that, share a car, share a room, eat well, NO PROBLEMS I know there are other sponsors who pick up travel costs and airline tickets. They might even spring for bat bags and composite bats too. The economy isn't all that great. Although sponsoring has some advertising tax write off advantages its still money out of pocket too. My co sponsor owns a fence company I own a franchise that helps high school kids get college athletic scholarships I can "Safely say" to this point that neither one of our businesses, gained any extra clients because we sponsor softball teams???????? And I'll guess that unless a bar or eating establishment is a sponsor, and players frequent that place after games, not many sponsors have anything to show $$$$$ except for some dusty trophies piled up on a wall somewhere. |
