We have not gotten our draws yet, but most games have been played at Lincoln Park which 25th and Lincoln. Dwain called me and is figuring up the brackets. We check into Lincoln Park, but he is not sure if 55s will be playing at Lincoln or the County Stadium which I believe is on highway 11.

Bugs plays Indy FOG at 1:00; so I know that you are at the County Stadium then. It is also called Dunn Stadium. I am trying to find a map because I know that it is hard to find; so I need maps for our team. All I know is that it is on State Road 11 off of State Road 46. I will let you know what I come up with. We play two games there and then one at Lincoln.

Since the tournament director does not have a map to the fields at County/Dunn Stadium, I have been on the phone and internet trying to come up with something. I have a map to one of the two entrances to the county fairgrounds, and I have been told that the park is at one of those entrances. One of our guys says that it is at the north entrance which is just after Garden City. I use www.randmcnally.com and put in Spears St at W 200 S, Columbus, IN as the destination to get this.

We got our game times from Dwain on Wednesday. Our 55 team is playing Bugs at 1:00 at Dunn Stadium, but I can not tell you about anyone else. I know that he was trying to work with the bracket yesterday to get another team in, but I do not know what he did with it. The last I knew it was us (Indy FOG), Bugs, Indiana Legends/Webbs Auto Center, Neil Boys (sp?, Akron), Jim and Joes, and Legends Softball. Bits and Pieces is playing games with us and against the 50s, but I do not know why unless it is to get five games in. The last that I heard we play two games at Dunn Stadium and one at Lincoln on Saturday. Dwain's number is 317-392-1853. Good luck.

Hi Nancy, The actual teams playing in the 50's are #1 Indiana Classics,Greensburg, indiana, #2 Brickyard Softball,Indianapolis, #3 Dayton legends, Dayton, Ohio, #4 OG'S , Louisville, Ky, #5 Ohio Silverado's, # 6 Zeppelin, Louisville, Ky, # 7 Bits & Pieces , Indianapolis, I do not know why they ( #7 ) are playing in the 50's they played in the 55's last weekend in Louisville.
The 50's start playing at 3 pm and most teams will play three seeding games all in a row, last game starts at 7pm, that is if we get to play, 70% chance of rain on Saturday, 80% chance on Sunday, I sure hope it misses the ballpark, see you there, Rabbit

Thanks, Rabbit. The teams in the 55 were Bugs Softball, Indiana Legends/Webbs Auto Center, Steel Dawgs, Jim and Joes, Legends Softball, and Indy FOG. I hope that we get to play some of these teams again when Dwain has his tournament in late September in Shelbyville.

Gene, it was nice meeting you also as well as a few others that I had only talked with in the past. I stayed and watched the Brickyard and OGs game and talked to old friends about softball. Is it just me, or does it seem like AA participation is down? We have only played a very few this year but many more AAA than in past years. We are in the same boat as you; it is good for us to play AAA teams, but we will never win a tournament where it is mixed. We came out the best of the AA teams, but does that really do us any good? We had an awful lot of fun with the Bugs players, and I just glad that the rain did not slow us down too much. No, we will not be going to Manassas, but I wish you and your team the best of luck there.

Hi Nancy, it was good to talk to you at the tourney at Columbus as usua we always have a lot to talk about, We are going to Rock Hill,NSA,but I did not realize ot payed attention that you can not swing the Miken 2 and you are right, there will be less teams untill they change that.( can you get that chaged?) As far as not many AA teams, it seeems to me that the teams that still traveling have picked up most of the good players that want to travel and they are playing in AAA , in which a lot of the teams are almost equal, just depends on who is hot that weekend, and I find that most AA teams really dont want to travel a lot, and will just play close if they play at all. also seems to me that there are not a lot of new teams or players signing up to play, as the organizations would like for you to believe that senior softball is growing at a fantastic rate.
The cost of the tourneys are now getting so high, only the good teams will go, knowing that they have a chance to win, it is almost $600 for a national (SPA and -SSWC) for a chance to play 5 games, that is a lot, not counting hotels, gas, food for 3 or 4 days, sometimes 5 days, makes you rethink if it is really worth it, I am almost to that point if it goes any higher, since we have no sponsor and flip the bill our selves. in which most teams do it this way also. Like everyone knows, it is all about the money. Too many organizations, see you soon in Champaign,Ill.JUly 7-8-9, Midwest Championships, SSWC, your friend Rabbit, coach of Indiana Classics AAA

Rabbit, good to see you back on the message board.
How have you been? Hope your pitcher that broke his ankle in Cullman has healed. You are right about not too many AA teams left with any $$ to travel. Not too many NEW guys forming NEW teams anymore. Most NEW guys if they decide to play are joining established teams.
Say HI to your wife for me.

Hi Red Eye, good to hear from, I am always looking at message board, just haven't put much up, but as usual as the season goes along there is more to talk about, I do not have much to say about some of the subjects they talk about on here ( doesnt matter to me one way or the other if you know what I mean, we just want to play softball). I hope all is well your way , How is your team doing this year? as for as my team, my pitcher (Lindsey M.) is well healed now and pitching as good as he has ever has, we are off to a good start this year, after really having to suffer through a off year last summer, with injurys and etc.. I told my wife you said Hi, she returns the greeting,

Rabbit, allways good to hear from you. I am on the DL this season, tore legiments & tendons off my ankle bone. Currently in my 3rd week of wearing a walking boot foot brace. Hopefully I will get it off July 3rd & start rehabing so maybe I can play some later this summer. Also had a major blood clot in my calf & spent 5 days in the hospital thinning out my blood. Taking Cumedin (Rat Posin) for 3-6 months. So I can't say when or if I will play this year.
Good Luck with your team this year, you & the guys are Class Acts & have enjoyed talking to you & seeing you at some of the tournaments the past few years. Hope to see you on the fields soon.

Rabbit, I have had some discussions with the NSA and am thinking about going to the national convention to talk about my/our concerns on senior softball. It is going to be a little tougher with associations that have seniors as a special group such as NSA, ASA, and USSSA. I know that ISA makes the exception, but they are very closely tied to senior softball as compared to the others. I was surprised to see that you were not going to the SPA tournament in Elgin the weekend of July 22. Joe usually puts on a great tournament, and this is a ring and jacket tournament.
