housekeeping.....
SSUSA:
thanks for getting the Rockin' Reno results out so quickly.

Umpires dismissal:
Unless it is guarded by confidentialty provisions, can you elaborate on why the umpires were dismissed? More to the point, is it anythign we as players/members of SSUSA need to be worried about?

Bob Strand NCSSA:
I did not know Bob personally, but his website work on behalf of NCSAA was exemplary. Although it did not have a working message board per se, the website had everything else needed to support our efforts to play in NCSSA. My hat is off to him for a job well done, and my prayers and wishes to his fmaily during their time of mourning.

NCSSA:
We are fortunate to have a top notch organization here in Northern California, but i guess success comes with a price - tournaments are starting to turn away teams, ugh!

See ya' on the fields.

Years ago the site did have a 'messageÊboard'. But some unsavory types posted spam and other things that were not kosher to the reason it was put there. Kinda like some of the stuff here.
Bob took it down and later went to this style which works well.

udaplaya, I agree with you that SSUSA results were out admirably quick! Good for them.

And taits is right. Bob Strand tried to begin a forum on the NCSSA site twice, and both times it was ruined by trolls. Not just occasional disagreements like we have here, which Bob could live with, but really malicious postings or too much garbage by non-softball players trying to market something.

I've also noticed that NCSSA tournaments are filling up and turning teams away. I think some of that is due to the late start this spring with so many tournaments cancelled, but hopefully it is also a sign of greater interest. We have the same number of teams, but tournament participation is very healthy.
