Dalton results
Turn Two walked away with the 60M+ championship in a convincing way, run ruling many teams. GSF placed secibd followed by us, Mobley Gin/Crystal Pharmacy. Then there was Jim and Joe's Ice and then Hollis Appraisals.
Webbie hit great against us, hitting two dingers and two or three other hits. Good job Webbie!
I watched the final in the 50M+ divisions between OKI TSC/Howards Const. TSC was leading most of the game but OKI went up by three in the top of the 7th. TSC then surprised us by hitting 4 ground balls in the bottom, unable to score.
It was nice seeing Mario again, smashing the ball as usual.

It was also nice meeting Alan Tanner with Team 1. I didn't have time to talk to Beasley or Dave A with the same team. Good luck the rest of the season guys!

Bruce-it was a pleasure to see you again and finally play against you. You sure kept the pressure on- you have a great team.
Turn two- what can we say-totally dominating-congratulations. Also a classy team-meeting Clatta and the rest-nice. You took us (and me) to school, for sure, but I look forward to the next time-it's already circled on my calendar!
I met so many guys it was great and missed a few although I tried during the rain delay. Thanks to ALL that came up and said hi.

The SPA tourney was great. Considering the rain, the fields were in excellent shape and the crews kept the cool water coming in the dugout.

The competition was outstanding and it was great putting some names and faces together.

Jim and Joes never quit and no lead was safe against them.

Mobley is a scoring machine and we were fortunate to hold them scoreless for 3 innings.

Turn Two is a class act and is the GOLD standard at any level of play.

GSF looks forward to seeing all of these teams again in Vegas.

Bruce I was the one playing middle infield for OKI who those grounders were hit to. From your view was that one guy who the umps called safe out or safe? It was bang-bang play and that guy was FAST!!

Stick, we were sitting directly behind the backstop, didn't have the angle you had, but we thought safe. We thought your team was questing which bag the batter hit, maybe thinking he hit the white bag.
He was fast along with probably another 6 or 7 of their players.
We played them 4 or 5 times in the last year, coming out on top only once.
Congrats on the championship!
Mike Adair, I'll see you in Vegas, I hope!

Appreciate the props Bruce, thanks. That team was strong and kept hitting and hitting!! Except for the last one I don't think they had a dry inning against us in the 2 games we played them.
Your correct, we did ask the first base ump to ask the home plate ump for help if the batter-runner touched the inside bag. He said the batter-runner was ok and that was good enough for me.
Although I was frustrated at the safe call I didn't question the umps judgement whether he beat the throw or not.

Congratulations to the OKI team on their 2nd consecutive SPA World Championship and TSC/Howard's Construction for their 2nd place finish. Both teams played very well and showed good sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

It was also nice to see some new/old faces - Dale & Perkins.

Congratulations to the ENR bunch for their 50+ Major World Championship, another great bunch of guys.

Some how, the time went by too fast and I didn't really get a chance to get around to the other fields and see others play but maybe the next time around.

Congrats to all the teams that played in the 60 major plus part of the tournament -- extra congrats to the winner Turn Two and to all my buddies on GSF -- . Looks like we missed seeing and playing against some very good teams outside the Western area. Look forward to seeing you all in Vegas.

Good to see you too Bruce. And it was nice to get to meet Alan and John from Team 1 Sports. I thought all 4 teams in the 50+ Major Plus division showed a lot of class by the way everything went down. We had our hands full with TSC/Howards Construction. In a couple of years they will be a plus team to be reccond with. Just goes to show everyone that Major teams can compete at the Plus level. They play Major in all the other sanctions. So good job to everyone and congrats to all the winners and we will see you guys down the road sometime!!!!

A very competitive 60 Major Plus tourney in Dalton and amazing job with the fields and the tourney especially with the rain. Excellent job by Ridge and his staff!
Great to catch up with many players we don't get to see very much. Bruce as always pounding the ball what a sweet swing and Mobley Gin/Crystal Pharmacy is very strong club with lots of potential. If you can just keep Goose under control!
Jim and Joe's very proud of how you played in your first Major Plus National tourney. You all just wouldn't quit - great weekend. Hollis Appraisals had a tough weekend but we all know you will be back strong.
Turn Two eight straight SPA championships and if you watch them play you would know why. Tough hitters and defensive players all the way through the line up and a very competitive team and even more important a group of Winners class of the 60’s. Looking forward to getting another shot at them in Vegas.

Great job by the field crews to keep the field game ready with all the rain showers. All of our umpires were top notch also.

Stick8-I came over to talk to OKI guys while waiting for the rain delay-I didn't realize you were with them.
Imlay-have to mention the great tourney you had-maybe 4 outs all weekend, and a bunch of hr's. WOW-HOF performance.

Mario-probably was me-royal blue knee brace, GSF jersey. I was asking who might be on the message board because my sometimes feeble memory could not remember specifically who was on what team. Next time I will write it down.(If I can remember where I keep the list)

Congratulations to OKI on a great tournament. Dale, you guys are a class act. Same to ENR, well deserved champions in 50 Major. Nice job Doc.

Kudos also to TSC/Howards for playing well and coming up a bit short. Had a lot of fun playing against you.

Bruce would have been nice to talk with you. You are a gentleman of the game.

Webbie and birdie, next time we need to let each other know who we are on this board. I'm trying to put faces and real names with what we all go by on this message board.
Conman, thanks for the compliment.... I thought all 4 our us Plus teams were a class act. It always fun meeting and playing teams that we have not played before. Looking forward to when we can all get together again.

Dale, I should pay closer attention to the board. I played against Kennard # 21 from D&K in Dalton. The game we played against them was our only win. I took one of the wrist at first base in the first inning of our first game against MINN. and missed the next two games.I coached first base against them. Wish I could have introduced myself. Maybe in Vegas. Kennard congratulations on the victory and good luck the rest of the year. Thanks Harry #20 NV FORCE

Conman-Bruce is a totally class guy and a great competitor on the field-hit all rockets against us. I would welcome the chance to play on a team with him someday.
