humidity
Fabe:

Interesting statement about humidity..if balls are dry and temperature etc are equal the ball flys A LONGER DISTANCE in higher humidity..?I know this in contrary to popular opinion but is scientifically proven. As players using the same ball inning after inning, we assume the ball flys a lesser distance because of the humidity in the air...It is actually caused the softer, heavier or wetter ball caused by picking up water.

Negating ALL other variables, a ball flys a greater distance in higher humidity than lower.

Well all I can say is I hit a few moon shots here, but when I travel to Vegas the ball really carries there! We had Helmer hit here a couple years ago n even his hits were not carryn like it does on the Mainland! Just sharing my personal experiences...sometimes science only explains part of the story! Fabe-vegas is at 2100 feet-the ball will carry better just because of that. If altitude works like air in an air compressor, at 5000 feet the air is 12-15% thinner and as such the ball flies further.JFsully-I have been saying that for years because h2O molecules are lighter that O2 molecules. Not all of the reason, but one component. Great observation.

I remeber playing in Alanta and it seemed to fly pretty good there!
