Old subject new slant on it: MERSA
Last year or earlier this year there was a thread put up a few of us commented on.
I have another issue I think is important regarding this serious infection: MERSA

I contracted MERSA in 2000 while in a hospital setting for surgery for an abscess in my leg from softball.
Am scheduled for some issue on be back next week what sis a similar procedure in Jan. No test were run for still having MERSA. This time it was done.
Lab take a nasal swab of both sides and your Dr get results in a day. If Negative, no problem. If like me Positive, I have some. 3-5 days are needed to get it under control, won't cure it but surg is still possible. If you can't do this you likely won't have the surg. It can spread easily. Or at least in my case.
PLEASE, if any of you have had MERSA get your primary DR to request the MERSA nasal swab, especially if your may have surg on the horizon

My RX is ointment I shove up both nasal passageways in my noise twice a day for 5 days as well as an OTC soap to take my showers with.
Just do not know why this wasn't done in Jan, other than this one involves literally twice as much what they will be doing.

Hope no one gets it, Even you Gary since I know your reading this. Wouldn't wish Mononucleosis on you either. Well maybe that one...lol

Seriously guys, if you have had it, get the lab work done. I really do not know what's in store for me because of the positive
