Withdrawing Eastern Nationals
Dave, as a tournament director for over 20 years at all levels of play, I find it incredibile that you are not giving back a teams money for withdrawing from this event. Dayton Legends has given you a week's notice that they will not be able to participate in the Eastern Nationals. I find it selfish that you take our hard earned money for withdrawing expecially since we give you a full weeks notice. I as a TD understand the inconvience of a team dropping out the night before and even 2 days before a event but I've never taken anybody's money for them withdrawing a week in advance. I would like for you to rethink this and penalaize us for maybe a game or 2 for umpire's but anything above that is not fair. Please rethink this. You've lost nothing since you have a week to redo your brackets. Thanks

if you are having a problem fielding a team for Friday only, jsut tell them you can only play on Saturday & Sunday. It seems the only rule in Senior Softball is there are no rules.

Danny; when a senior organization comes into a city for a large tourn., they ususally have a bilateral agreement where the city privides a service and puts "up front" money for the tourn. and the organization promises a minimum number of teams to the local revenue. It is ALL about money, as usual. This is a business not a sport. Just like the pros! Thing that puzzles me, is that why are not the Michigan teams (host teams) not able to play on Fri. Of course, they have a viable excuse. TDs may need to reconsider the entry. How about X amount of $$$ for the entire tourn. and $75 more, if you are only going to play the two days instead of three. Many teams do not like to play on Fri. if is does not mean anything. Then if it is a two day tourn. other teams will gripe. Too much emphasis on the teams to win the tourn. and not enough regarding sportmanship and taking the time to meet new teams and players..
