NCSSA General Meetingm, Sat Dec 1
Am wondering who all plans to attend.
I know I'll be there representing 4 teams. One each for 55, 60, 65 & 70.
I think some important issues will be discussed.
It's the only time for another year you, managers or their representatives have a 'say' on what goes on and can put items to a vote with your peers.

I will be there... Unfortunately for a couple items, the only issues that can be voted on are the ones put on the agenda 30 days prior.....

Tim,
You are correct here.
Most everyone. (managers, sponsors) know or should, there is a general meeting the 1st Sat of every Dec to voice concerns for next year and vote on them. It is one of the better player\team functioning bodies for associations processes around but is still a very controlled one. About same time and at same place each year.
Managers have a option to write in with proposals to be voted on or at least they used to have it.
When Oct rolls around it's time to think about what issues you might like to voice to the assembly and maybe propose a change if that be the case.
Of the 100+ teams listed only about a third send rep to this. I understand distance is a problem for many but the letter in advance can help alleviate that as well as proxy votes.
Hope to meet you there.

If any Issuses you want to discuss let me know, SPA Meeting is the 11th -13th of Dec. My goal is to try to get the rules to mirror SSUSA for the teams that play both tournaments. SPA like SSUSA wants to listen to the players to make senior softball better for the teams.
SPA can change and enforce rules in the next season by the vote of the board. I already have a dozen or more proposals from other managers and players Reps. that I will bring up.

Don,
I personally haven't played SPA in years but used to. I agree on them listening and have submitted ideas to them in the past as well as participated in those poles back then. Some things have been implemented because of those who took the time to take part in those modes of expression. Ridge's group does a good job in that respect.
SPA is supposed to have a combo event here in so cal or already was. But do know he was here a couple years back looking also at or for nor cal venues too.
I might send you a note, but if you do not get one do not worry about it it would be after the 1st anyway.

There is no truth to the rumor that, in an effort get more participation from managers and players, they will be selling ice cold beer on tap at this meeting...

In as much as you posted this, their must me some truth to it. However, since its in City Hall next to the PD, maybe after the meeting in the parking lot. lol

They do need more to attend than the 40 or so managers that usually show up out of the 100 plus teams. Many team mgrs are too far to attend but what I mention above still gives a voice in the process, hopefully they do it.
