TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS 2013 • DRAFT Game Schedules & Brackets
DRAFT Game Schedules and Brackets for the 2013 SSUSA Tournament of Champions in Polk County, FL, have been posted and are available from the links below and on the event's Tournament Page ... As always, these TENTATIVE schedules are subject to change and become final ONLY when released as "OFFICIAL" at the Manager's meeting the evening before play commences ...

NOTE: Managers who do NOT attend the meeting will be presumed to be fully informed on ALL matters (such as schedule changes, tourney formats and rules issues) discussed at the meeting. Managers who do not attend Manager Meeting, and do not send a representative, will be prohibited from beginning tournament play before check-in with Field Director ...

Keeping score is "optional"; there are no standings and no champions or awards!

Many teams will not yet have a full complement of their players, so FREE AGENTS ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND ready to play! ... The Directors will get everybody who shows up into games ... Have fun and we look forward to seeing you there!

ALL STAR GAMES UPDATE • Two marvelous All Star games were played at the Auburndale Sports Complex this evening. In the SSUSA All Star game, the American Team, coached by Terry Hennessy and Barney Green (GA) defeated the National Team, coached by Bill Ruth and Ed Sullivan (NM), 20-18, by virtue of a walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the 7th inning. The win earned the American Team a berth in the following game with the Wounded Warriors National Softball Team.

The nightcap lacked a little of the suspense of the earlier game, but more than made up for it with inspirational play of the Patriotic nature. The Wounded Warriors never trailed after the top of the 1st inning, and closed things out with a dominating 23-12 victory before an overflow crowd at Auburndale. Thank you, and congratulation, to the Wounded Warriors for a truly inspirational experience for all of us. We hope this was just the inaugural game in an annual series.
