SENIOR SOFTBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Oct. 1, 2011

Thursday, Oct. 13:

1-4 pm at Rose Mofford Softball Complex

4th Annual Joiful

Tournament

The first day of a special International Tournament. This year there are both Men’s and Women’s Divisions competing, with teams from Japan, Canada and the United States. The Joiful Tournament uses a special ball and is sponsored by Kenko Sports of Japan.

5-7 pm at the Inn Place Hotel

Manager Registration

Managers for the Men’s 60 Division, Men’s Masters 40 Division and all Women’s Divisions register and receive their programs and schedules anytime between 5-7 pm at the Headquarters Hotel Inn Place Hotel.

7 pm at the Inn Place Hotel

Managers Meeting

Managers for the Men’s 60 Division, Men’s 40 Masters Division and all Women’s Divisions meet at the Inn Place Hotel. Managers will meet the directors of fields, review changes in schedules, hear details of awards, special events of the tournament and will be eligible to win prizes during drawings. PLEASE NOTE THAT ROSTERS ARE FROZEN AFTER THE MANAGER’S MEETING.

Friday, Oct. 14:

8 am at all fields the Games Begin

Seeding games for the World Championships begin at all fields. Players register before the first game. Some bracket games may be played in some divisions. National Games are scheduled to be played for the 60AA at Papago Park, 60AAA at Desert West Complex, 60 Major and Major-Plus at Cesar Chavez, and the Women’s 50 and 55 Divisions at Rose Mofford Fields.

9 am-Noon at Rose Mofford Softball Complex

4th Annual Joiful Tournament

The final day of the special International Joiful Tournament in both Men’s and Women’s Divisions.

Noon-1 pm at Rose Mofford Fields

Opening Ceremonies

There will be a Parade of Players, Hall of Fame greats will be there and Joiful Tournament winners receive awards. In addition, Ellwin Jobe and Ron Danoski will be inducted into the National Senior Softball Hall of Fame.

7 pm at the Inn Place Hotel

International Reception

Reception for teams participating in the International Joiful Tournament.

Saturday, Oct. 15

8 am at all fields the Games Begin

Elimination games played at all fields throughout the day.

Sunday, Oct. 16:

8 am at all fields - Awards Presented

Today is the culmination of play for the 60 Men’s Division, the Men’s 40 Master Division and all Women’s Division. Awards will be presented in ceremonies on the field after each of the Championship Games.

5-7 pm at the Inn Place Hotel

Managers for the Men’s 65, 70, 75 and 80 Divisions register for the World Championships and receive their programs, schedules and other important information anytime between 5-7 pm at the Headquarters Hotel Inn Place Hotel.

US National Games are scheduled to be played for the 75 and 80 divisions at Rose Mofford, the 70 Major-Plus, 65 Major-Plus and 65 Major at Papago Park, the 70AAA at Cesar Chavez Park, the 65 AAA and 65 AA at Cesar Chavez Park.

Opening Ceremonies

Opening Ceremony will be at noon on Field One. There will be a Parade of Players, singing of the National Anthem and five Hall of Fame Inductions: Sal Cisneros, Pete Conley, Gayle Cowen, Bob Hannah and Harry Walker.

Tuesday, Oct. 18

8 am at all fields - Games

Seeding and Elimination games played at all fields throughout the day.

Wednesday, Oct. 19

8 am at all fields - Games

Elimination games played at all fields throughout the day.

Thursday, Oct. 20

8 am at all fields - Awards Presented
