Feb. 8, 2013 Bubble Gum | Topic: Bats Discussion: Hard time getting ahold of Team 1 sports re: broken Ambush Gorilla Boy I have done exactly what you have instructed to repair the loose end cap. In fact I have done it on more than one Combat model. On both the Black Centenarian and the Yellow Combat, I got the same result. Both times, because of air pressure the end caps would NOT stay seated all the way down. So when the glue cured the end cap had a gap from it's fully seated position. After I applied the glue I placed the bat on it's end cap for a few days, but the bats weight did not hold the end cap in the all the way down position. Did you do something to keep the end cap all the way down until the glue cured? Or did you put a small hole in the end cap to allow for air pressure? |
Feb. 3, 2013 Bubble Gum | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: "Swing Makeover Series" Episode #4 now available on youtube. Connecting the Hips to the Hands for max power and consistency I like the videos, they are very informative. I tried that "longer stride" thing like they show in the video. I noticed that the longer stride was causing me to pop up more often, due to the fact that as you spread out your legs farther apart you in effect, lower your whole body causing you to get under the ball more. Also if the stride is too long the hips won't turn as easily. I did not notice any mention of how far your stride is supposed to be. 6 inches? 12 inches? More? How far is too far? Also I've noticed more soreness in my lower back after hitting bp, 60-80 balls. Has anybody else experienced this? |
Jan. 24, 2013 Bubble Gum | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Best Pitcher I have tried to resist adding my 2 cents in this thread. When the term "The Best" is used, that implies that of all SSUSA member players, there is "no one" in any age group, ability level or sex that is equal to this one person in all the various categories required for that position. So unless you have seen ALL PITCHERS (for example) in ALL the SSUSA sanctioned events, then it is ridiculous to name anyone as being "The Best". |

Dec. 31, 2012 Bubble Gum | Topic: Bats Discussion: What the #@%& is a BATCH? I keep hearing about a Batch of Bats. So my question is: HOW MANY BATS MAKE UP A BATCH? |

Sept. 13, 2012 Bubble Gum | Topic: Bats Discussion: How much difference does an ounce make? BruceinGa Interesting theory. If using weighted batting gloves is equal to the changing the rod in the handle, then it would be conceivable that you now have 2 different bats in one. Example: you start off with 26 oz end load bat and WALLAH. it becomes most likely a 29 oz. balanced with the use of the 3 oz weighted gloves. |
Aug. 24, 2012 Bubble Gum | Topic: Bats Discussion: gsc bat latest web site update From where I come from, business that do business like this are really fronts for the (Insert 3 letter word here)! Maybe... Is GSC really Godfathers Sports Company?? |
Aug. 24, 2012 Bubble Gum | Topic: Bats Discussion: gsc bat latest web site update AndyC Have you read any of the posts above? Go to the GSC web site and you will find out that the bats are "Coming Soon" as they have been for the last few years. What kind of company DOES NOT take purchase orders? What kind of company DOES NOT advertise? What kind of company makes promises, like delivery in May and doesn't deliver? What kind of company only uses a PO Box for a mailing address? |
Aug. 20, 2012 Bubble Gum | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Thank Vinny Vinny Thanks for taking my pitching machine to my truck. I was trying to thank you at the park but I don't think you heard me because of the ear buds in your ears. I think Leo wants me to bring it again next week. |
Aug. 18, 2012 Bubble Gum | Topic: Players looking to join a team Discussion: SportsmanShop What's the chances of Sanders being anywhere close to that time 20 plus years later? A reasonable guess is that Sanders would probably be in the middle to high 5's if he were to run the 40 yard dash today. |

July 12, 2012 Bubble Gum | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: WHO GETS THE BALL?? Situation: 3rd inning....batting team has just scored 4 runs...and has a runner on 3rd base (the potential 5th run)... NO OUTS.... The outfielders are called in to play just behind the infielders to try to stop the 5th run from scoring. The batter hits the ball easily over the outfielders heads...the runner on 3rd base scores the 5th run ending the inning. So the question now is... WHO GETS THE BALL? Should the outfielders of the defending team that were playing just behind the infielders have waste time and energy by going out to the fence to get the ball? Especially if they are going to bat next? Or should the outfielder of the team that just batted, and is already headed in that direction get the ball? Is it considered "poor sportsmanship" if the defending team outfielders don't get the ball? What's your opinion? |
