Discussion: Rio Vista, Sidewinders tournament. Missing bat

Played at Rio Vista today. Nice tournament. One our players is missing his Grey Ultra. Someone may have picked it up by mistake and placed it in their bat bag. Let me known if that someone is you and we can make arrangements to get it back. We played on Field 1 shortly after noon today.

Discussion: USA Championship seeding game

How many times have you gone to a BIG tournament and end up playing 2 very good teams in the pool play ? Well it happens and sometimes marginal teams get to play weak teams and end up 2-0. I suggested a while back that the teams playing for the National Championship receive 1 and 2 seeds. They deserve it !

We have been #14 seed out of 14 teams and won a major and we have been #1 seed and never made it to Sunda

With the 3 game guarantee in Bracket play what's to complain about. If your not playing on Sunday it wasn't meant to be.

Discussion: How to Play More Innings

We had to tell the umpires on more than one occasion that we were ready to play. A few spent way too much time between innings talking B.S with who ever was behind the backstop. Most umpires were great as usual.

Who won 60 AAA ? We were humbled by Cut Loose and later Last Call. Both good teams with good guys.

Discussion: Seriously Rock N Reno

Dave and his staff did a great job of trying to keep games on schedule. We played good teams with good guys. The Royals, AAA 60's, put us in the loser bracket. They are a very good team and a class act. We lost again on Sunday to our friends from Renton Softball. We have played with and against the Renton boys for years. It's always fun to sit around after the game with those guys and have a beer or two or three ! We want to win as much as anyone there but the experience of being with friends is what makes Senior Softball so special. It beats a Honey do list any day and we got away from the rain for a few days.

I saw the bat and it's Freak 2000 with the 1.20 stamp. Clearly I am not the brightest person when it comes to Bat history. So if it says Freak and it is stamped 2000 and has the 1.20 is it the old "hot" freak or what ?

What is the value of a little used 2000 Freak 98 with a 1.20 stamp? How is it performance wise ?

Discussion: Las Vegas Fields and Umpires

Field of Dreams were great, SSUSA did a great job of running 39 teams in 60 AAA. Umpires were good with a few exceptions. You always run into those umpires that wants to make the game about them. Biggest complaint was that no umpires showed up for our winners bracket Sunday morning game. Don't every schedule a game at Dodger stadium at 0730hr. The sun is right behind the pitcher. There were at least 8k's during the game. Every team we played were class acts, Fossils, Jersey Masters, Last Call, OC Mustangs etc.

Discussion: Teams to beat in 60's AAA or Who you don't want to see in your first bracket game.

A few of the teams from the West coast that should do well ( if injury free)? OTE, R&R 60's, Last Call, and for sure Bay Supporters 60's. But with 39 teams anything can happened !!! What teams are coming from the East, Midwest and South that can ruin your day ???

It would be nice to see some California teams come up to the RAC. Great fields and a good tournament.

Discussion: Western Nationals observations

Since this seems to be of great concern to you I can tell you what I know. There was an error in calculating numbers that would meet the criteria for the move to Major. When this error was realized the correction was made.
End of story, no sandbagging, no favoritism, I don't know anyone at SSUSA, no one from SSUSA plays on our team and no money exchanged hands.

See you in Vegas !!!

You should ask SSUSA if you have a concern. I noticed from your past post you asked the same question about Eviro Vac last year after they won Reno. I wonder why Tanel never moved up after winning Western Nationals last year. I don't wonder too much anymore because I have my own team to be concerned about. WE got our butts kicked on Sunday by OTE. They were moved down from Major.
I think SSUSA is probably doing the best they can to keep on top of this.

GSWP001, Yes the curbing in the dugout. We all trip on it every game. As senior we must have forgot it was there!

ARO placed 3rd in the AAA 60's. We lost to a better team OTE. We also won ,loss, won to Last Call and lost to the Sidewinder both very good teams and class acts. ARO's players like coming to the BIG tournaments to play good teams within our own age and skill levels (AAA).

What we don't like is spending $500 or more per person to play good teams on "Shitty fields". If SSUSA is a business and they are trying to sell a product they are not doing a very good job. What would have been the cost to mow the outfield grass? It was at least 5 inches tall and to make it worse they watered it?

Since I am bitching about things I will bitch a little more.

SSUSA should do away with the "RING" tournaments. If you win the NW Championships or Reno or some of the other National tournament you get the "Privilege" of buying a "Ring". I don't get it ? You have to "BUY" your award.
You are running a business, your business is declining, profits are down. Do you ever ask the big question, Why ???

Last Observation, This was my second contact with Don the tournament director. He did an outstanding job and with the exception of the fields the tournament was well run and organized at The Sacramento Softball Complex.
