Discussion: runner interference

Batted ball hit pitcher and rolled toward 2nd baseman,2nd baseman ran towards pitcher to field ball ,runner on first ran into 2nd baseman and knocked him over. Umpire says no call since they were both doing what they were suppose to do? By the way this happens every year a couple of times and runner has never been called out.

8.7 page 52 says "a runner must make every effort to avoid collision with opposing player while running the bases" if they collides with fielder I always thought he was out but does not say so? Thank's

Is there any pitch other than 90 degree or straight up and down legal, such as about 18 inches off hip? Could I have searched for this answer on this site and how? Thanks

Thanks for the help. I had some friends who said they were playing there and I could find no information. I did finally find the one you displayed and after much searching actually found a web site. showed no future tournaments and I can see why. Thanks again. Bob T

Thanks, I found that but where do you go to see what tournaments they are having?
Everything I see says asa and usa senior ball is the same.

Discussion: Terminology

Only the top 10% of umpires understand what 6' is. I personally can not throw a pitch under 6' from 6' behind rubber without fast pitch motion. I have tried and thought was under 6' but after reviewing film realized it was over 6'. Set camera half way between pitcher and home at side angle and put something 6' high such as a camera tripod or use fence rail a lot of rails are at 6'on other side. you will be surprised at how hard it is to throw under 6".

If a play at first was eventually made before batter runner is in dugout or batter runner reaches first would this rule still stand?

Discussion: 1 and 1 with courtesy foul new rule for younger guys

This will lead to much higher scoring games for several reasons. If you can make a higher scoring game shorter, then they know something I don't. This has really slanted the advantage to the hitter. The 1 and 1 no courtesy helps the average and below average hitters tremendously but most hitters don't realize it. I hope it works. The only thing I know that will shorten the game is less runs per inning, 2 outs per inning or additional fielders.

As a pitcher I feel the biggest delay of games are errors. ha ha. I feel I have advantage in full count games over any other for various reasons which I will not disclose.

Mr. Manassas I saw you running in Ft Myer last week and was suprised at how well you ran after watching you try to run after knee replacement for years.
What changed? need advise as I'm struggling in rehab for several years now. I will be going back to see my surgeon this month and need game plan.

Discussion: miken black senior bat- balanced vs endload alan -mike or other

Alan, you say the handle and knob are diifferent, how so? I looked at one on line and close up and could see no real difference.
I use a overlap grip with a knob cuff, will this effect how it feels to a ultra 2 or others for that matter? thanks Bob

Has anyone hit the balanced? How does the balanced compare to endload?
