Discussion: 1 and 1 count

With time limits per game, how about speeding up games by batters starting with a 1ball and 1strike count. Standing in the outfield waiting for batters to swing before they get a strike sometimes or sometimes working the count to 3-2 can really be tough on fielders on very hot days as well. How many times do we not get into the 7th inning costing players more at bats and playing time?

We have devalued the HR by our selfishness to hit the ball better than when we were younger. I find it funny to read here that the bats and balls are needed inorder for older seniors to continue to play. Aren't there too many easy HR's and more importantly the speed of the ball comming at you a bit crazy?

can't we just tone down the ball just to give anyone a chance to catch it.You can still hit a hr but may limit the really cheap HR's

the only solution to the cr rule is that if u can make it to second, u can make it home. If u can't run then a reserve player comes in for you. It can make the game more like the pro baseball game by using your moves strategically. Why should a team of slow runners have the equalizer of putting in a speedster that turns anyone into Willy mays!

once the hitter reaches second base he should forfeit his right to a runner. Why should anybody who runs out a double need a runner. The advent of a courtesy runner was created for players who had issues running for whatever reason. Why should a faster runner be inserted?
