Nov. 13, 2017 rlspls1974 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: bats on playing field Take a look at the SSUSA Rulebook 8.4(10)D Exception 1. If the ball becomes blocked because of offensive equipment not involved in the game, the ball is ruled dead and the runners are returned to the last base touched at the time of the blocked ball. If the blocked ball prevented the defense from making an out, the runner being played on is called out. |

Oct. 13, 2016 rlspls1974 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Durable Bats Hail, I will also vouch for the Nightmare. Two full seasons of league and tournament ball and as Doerbaum says, no cracks or rattles....not to mention they are $139 right now! |

Oct. 10, 2016 rlspls1974 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Umpire Hit by a Batted Ball The real question is, if the ball carries over the fence off of the umpire, will the HR will count as one of that teams HR's ? :) |
Oct. 9, 2016 rlspls1974 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Ruling clarification Curty, Apples and Oranges, in your example the 5th run scored ending the inning. This Out of the box interpretation is not"Logical" |
Oct. 7, 2016 rlspls1974 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Ruling clarification Staff, I don't get it but if you say so. Can you please provide the rule number/paragraph? Learn something new everyday. Thanks |
Oct. 7, 2016 rlspls1974 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Ruling clarification Ok staff, that makes no sense. The player was called OUT prior to the ball leaving he park. Play stops, ball is dead, runners return to the base previously held. How is your ruling possible? |
Oct. 7, 2016 rlspls1974 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Ruling clarification As soon as the batter is called out the ball is dead. So no, it does not count toward the home run total. |
Aug. 17, 2016 rlspls1974 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Using screen for pitcher A. At the beginning of each half inning or when a pitching change is made during any half inning, the pitcher will position the screen no more than four feet in front of the pitching rubber (measured to the end of screen legs), with its closer side no more than two feet left or right of the middle of the rubber. The pitcher will deliver all pitches to the side of the screen, not over the top. B. The league strongly encourages the pitchers in all divisions to move entirely behind the screen upon release of each pitch and before the ball reaches home plate. C. The pitcher may make a defensive play on any batted ball. D. A batted ball that hits the screen will be declared "No pitch, dead ball", with no penalty on the batter. E. A thrown ball that hits the screen will be a live ball, play on. A thrown ball that becomes lodged in the netting of the screen will be declared a dead ball, with runners returning to the last base touched. |
