Sept. 24, 2025 Benji4	Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Vegas 50's field assignments and pool play schedule ? Playball 24. Of course you are anonymous in your profile. I'm guessing you have never ran a tournament or been in charge of scheduling. The mere fact you got the schedule 2 weeks in advance you should be thankful. Most tourneys you get the schedule 2 or 3 days before the event. Dave schedules I'll bet close to a 1000 games for Vegas worlds. He rarely makes any mistakes and if he does he fixes them immediately. If he put the schedule out sooner he would get 500 phone calls or messages from teams wanting special treatment for whatever stupid reasons they could come up with. Instead of complaining, asking the man to hire more help why dont you volunteer to run your own vegas worlds and see how many teams you can get to come and play? That way you can put the schedule out months before your event. Every year the same people like yourself complain about when the schedule will be out and it's always people with no name in their profile. Hope your team does well. Aug. 6, 2024 Benji4	Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Batter Box Rule Here is my experience with the new batter's box rule as an umpire and a player. The rule is fair. Most hitters are only called out when they walk up to hit the short pitch that is usually a ball anyway. I will say in my experiences this season that the better umpires call batters out when their back foot is in front of the mat, and the mediocre umpires can't watch multiple things so batter's aren't called out. If you like to be in the front of the box, place your back foot even with the front of the rubber and don't move your back foot and you will never get called out. Simple.

Sept. 20, 2023 Benji4	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Wounded Warrior vs Sin City All Stars game last weekend Just wanted to take a moment to thank SSUSA staff Terry, Dave, Tim and Fran for scheduling and hosting the Wounded Warriors vs Sin City All Stars game last Saturday. It was an honor and a privelege to represent and pitch for the Wounded Warriors. The Warriors were impressive in their win. Thank you Warrior coach David Van Sleet for the invite. I'm sure there were many others, including the umpires who helped make the game a success and deserve a thank you. Thank you to the Warriors for their service, and again to SSUSA for recognizing the Wounded Warriors by hosting the game. Benji
