Discussion: Why so many shaved senior bats

Alan 55
How are you going to come out and blame SSUSA for shaved bats?

Explain to me how they are to enforce shaved bats and do it legally and keep everyone happy?

Compression testing is not 100% accurate, and just because your bat tests low doesn't mean it shaved. You want them to start cutting bats open based on suspicion? Or do they get a crystal ball and guess who has a shaved bat?

Who is going to pay to replace cut open bats that aren't shaved?

Maybe if managers and teammates would police themselves and call out their own players then just maybe the problem could be reduced. Cheating in sports is never going to be zero percent because people have always tried to gain an advantage.

Calling out SSUSA isn't the answer. The same problem exists in all levels of softball and no one has come up with a solution except using provided bats at all tournaments. That's a costly thing that is not excepted by everyone playing softball.

And bat manufacturers aren't going to change the way bats are manufactured just because a few people complain about shaved bats. Shaved bats break easier therefore, more bat sales.

So instead of bashing SSUSA come up with a PERFECT solution and I'm sure they would be willing to listen.

All I can say is WOW. I have the utmost respect for all of you that have had knee replacement surgery and still show up to compete on the softball field.

Technology is a wonderful thing....

I wish the best for all of you.

Saguaro was remodeled a few tears back and is very nice now. Good dirt and moved the fences back a few feet. I would say Saguaro and the new park in Peoria are the nicest behind BLD in Gilbert.

HAHA. Not petty at all just don't believe that if you spend $200 on a bat that you should have to use glue on it.

So your very broken in "hot" bat gets a crack on the barrel. You put a little bit of glue on the crack to repair it. Still not altering the bat?

So by putting glue on your bat you made it an illegal bat because you altered it?

Don't need glue on the Louisville Hyper Z. Just saying....

We are swinging this years model the green and blue signature bat. One guy still swings last years yellow Hyper Z but that is because its a mental thing for him.

I still have a yellow one that I swing playing on my 40's team but I like the new green/blue one a little better.

I have only seen one of the new ones break this year and it was a guys bp bat that had more than 1000 swings on it.

I just feel the performance on the new one is a little better. The ball seems to knuckle a little more when you square it up and the distance is a little better.

If you are interested in getting one send me an email and I will give you some info on getting one.

Louisville Hyper Z. Some have 1000 swings on them and it seems to work for us Sommerville guys.

Dave. You can't always make everyone happy but thank you for the time and effort you put into this. Couldn't have been more happy with the field assignments for 40's and sure not complaining about the 50's.
Thanks again...

Discussion: SSUSA Arizona Director Rick Seifman

Joncon

I can assure you the info about Rick is 100% accurate. He has done the same thing many times before in seniors and ASA. I have personally lived it so I will be responsible for it. Let Rick come on this message board and defend himself I welcome it.

The established senior player like other players hosed by Rick didn't want his name revealed because Rick would vindictively screw him again.

You can support Rick that's fine but don't say anyone was whining or crying. Just stating accurate facts about Rick's antics.

Since you don't play senior ball anymore maybe you shouldn't chime in. Go back to playing shuffleboard and leave the message board to those that play.............

Wayne give me the name of the officers and the department they work for so I can request a copy of the police reports regarding your incidents. I LEARNED LONG AGO THERE ARE USUALLY TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY and almost every person arrested believes in their own mind they did nothing wrong to get arrested.

You are still misinformed on Brown and your conspiracy theories are way off base.............

Hopefully your next experience with police is positive but think about this; police usually deal with people on their worst days mainly because of the disrespect and total disregard for laws from people such as yourself.

And by the way who are the olsen twins? I was working a lot back then chasing criminals and keeping people safe.

Fabe you guys had some good Hawaii teams back in the day. I don't think most people realize the quality of Law Enforcement softball then and now.

I'm not to concerned about a thread hijack. I'm sure Seifman knows I don't care for him. I just think his antics are bad for senior softball.

I played a few years with Dbax on the Softball Whores. One of the best teams I was associated with... I have been lucky enough to travel to a lot of great places to play softball: Detroit, Virginia Beach, Nevada, Tahoe, St. Louis, Kansas City, Vegas, Dayton, Houston, Jacksonville, and so on.......

Still talk to Delbert and Jan and am trying to convince Delbert to get back to playing.....

Nice reminiscing and knowing a lot of former Law Enforcement guys are still competing.

Yes sir that is me. Police softball has come along way. They have a clearer list of qualifications now. I still play heading to Kansas City next weekend just don't play for DEA combo anymore. I remember all the battles with the good Texas teams.
