Yes you are correct. We are JK INC/Easton

PA

Why does it matter if we have a great sponsor? Why does it matter all of us fly to tournaments, and get some perks?

If you are that jealous then go practice and get better. We are always looking for players....

We will give runs or the players because the rules say we have to. No one on our team bitches or complains we just go play with a vengeance and try to kick teams asses.

Good luck to you PA and when you think you are ready call JK and I am sure you can get a tryout.

JK Inc. is a Major Plus team and we are required to give runs to other Major Plus teams.

Funny thing is no other Major plus team in Vegas in April took runs in round robin. One team took them in the playoffs, after they didn't take them in round robin against us.

I agree why is a major plus team taking runs or a fielder against another major plus team?

Wow fellas jealous already and it's only July.

Instead of hating why don't you go put some work in and get better.................

Oh my bad mediocrity is probably okay with you.

And last I checked Ego doesn't win games or championships. Hard work, dedication, togetherness and skills and abilities do.....

See you in October.

Discussion: Achilles Tendon Injury

Forrest 52

I had the surgery last Nov. 17th in Phoenix with a doctor who used a fairly new procedure where he added amniotic fluid to the tissue he used to graft. My doctor said 6-9 months before I could play. I said bullshit. He explained splitting my Achilles and removing the spur was major surgery.

I stayed off my foot for approx 5 weeks doing literally nothing for the first 14 days. Rode a foot scooter putting no weight on it after the first 14 days until week 6.

I started back playing March 1st. Wore a compression sleeve and did rehab to strengthen it. I got a runner and only ran to first base until May 1st when I began running for myself at about 80%.

Doctors tell you 12 months because they have to. Stay off of it, do the rehab and strengthening exercises and you may not be running at full speed but you can be back playing in less than 5 months.

Good luck.

Discussion: 4 DAYS NOW FOR VEGAS MASTERS?

If I recall:

All the bitching and whining about late night games or games with several hours between them was the reason SSUSA went to a 4 day schedule.

So next time you unnamed keyboard cowboys complain; watch what you wish for.

Discussion: Was The ump

As a middle infielder if you don't run out of the box with a runner on first I will let a fly ball in the infield drop every time to complete a double play. If the batter doesn't like it he can run to first so I don't do it. That's called being smart and trying to win.

I once did that same thing and the umpire called time and called an automatic out saying that I was required to catch all fly balls. I said I didn't touch it and he said it doesn't matter the rule book says you must catch all fly balls. I told the umpire he was the biggest DUMBSHIT in the world and to show me in the rule book where it says I am required by rule to catch every fly ball. He stopped the game pulled out his rule book and read it for 10 minutes. He didn't change the call but everyone in the game and watching knew he was a DUMBSHIT.....

If the defense is smarter than the offense don't get pissed just run everything out.....

Dave

I think you should consider changing the championship game to the Carson City (crappy ass fields) so people playing 60 major plus won't complain about staying an extra day.

On the bright side you would only probably have to do that once before people get it...................

SS11

Nobody from SOMMERVILLE is going to come on this message board and tell you how many championships we have won.

We have/are successful because every guy puts in the work necessary to help the team win.

JK INC is probably the only other 40+ and 50+ team(s) as successful as SOMMERVILLE. And many players have played for both teams.

Both Summy and JK are very good sponsors.

Dave

GSL, USSSA, ASA and even law Enforcement give you the schedule the Thursday before the tournament.

So an excellent job by you and your staff to get it out a week in advance.

JOB WELL DONE.

Carry on.

I'm curious. Do people actually need a week or so notice to figure out if they are going to drive 3 hours on a Thursday night or Friday morning?

Discussion: WOULD YOU QUIT PLAYING?

If I win the lottery I will start an Association for all of you who want softer balls, less of a bat, a screen, no games with the sun in your eyes, no loud fans screaming, no forced re-ratings, and participation trophies.

I will even name the Association. We will call it:

I'm afraid to get hurt/compete at a higher level and I want a prize for participating softball association.

Find another hobby if you don't like the way SSUSA runs things.

Isn't the Goal to COMPETE at the highest level possible?

So now if you win games by one run it means you are not a M+ team?

Not every team is going to be the best Major plus team but as long as you are competitive you are Major Plus.

Strive to be the best should be the new SSUSA Motto.

Damn Vinny now people will think we aren't best friends. Haha. You know me not complaining but basically proving a point through colorful commentary.

Guess I just never could understand why guys think things are so unsafe and still play the sport.

Won't be in St. George still recovering from Achilles surgery. Good luck to you and the Tucson boys.............

Discussion: Today's "super" bats

A 52/300 core ball is way too bouncy and infielders would get more injured. If you play 400 plus games a year in different associations you would see that a 40/375 or 44/375 ball is fine. Nobody wants to hit a wet sock type ball and besides in seniors you can play deeper in the infield because most guys don't run as well.

Discussion: Safety of the Game

Why do people come on this board and continually complain about safety and blame SSUSA.

We all have choices, so if you think it's not safe then don't play. There is danger in every kind of hobby, sport or recreational activity. If you are afraid of injury you should probably take up another hobby like tennis. Oh wait my buddy just rolled his ankle playing tennis and needs a surgery. Maybe bowling. Oh wait I watched a guy drop the ball on his foot and get injured.

For you guys complaining about safety maybe take up lawn bowling, curling, or ping pong. Quit blaming SSUSA for not caring. Everyone cares and people COMPETE at their own risk.

Do you think our military, police and fire personnel say to themselves everyday no one cares about their safety and then quit their jobs? Nope they make the best of each situation being as safe as they can be by personal choice.

Softball is not going change much. Bats aren't going to change balls aren't going to change either. If you want change then put up the $$$$$ and get your own association. But to come on here and talk crap that SSUSA doesn't care about safety is asinine.

Nobody wants anyone to get hurt but the majority don't want the game changed. Make your choice to play or not play and if you are so afraid find a safer hobby, or move to Europe where everyone is afraid.....
