Discussion: Roster and playing rule

Player in a 2 day SSUSA qualifier is 61 yrs old. He registers w/ a 55 team and a 60 team. With the 55's he signes as an add on and as a 60, he signs as a regular roster player. He plays on the first day with the 55's and then plays with the 60 team on the second day.
The first time at bat on the second day with the 60's he hits a single. The player is idenified to the umpire before the next pitch.
What are the rulings (its ok, out, forfeit, disqualification, etc). If your quessing don't answer. I know there are different association rules but this one deals with the SSUSA.

Discussion: HELP ON THE RULES (SSWC OR ANYONE ELSE)

All runs count. Immediate dead ball. If in the umpires judgement there could have been a play, any play , made whether or not an out could be made. He may call the runner closest to home out. Final, 2 runs score , 2 outs and batter/runner at 1 st. A good unpire will make this call.
A waring against the runner who made the infraction.

Sorry for those of you who got cancelled in Santa Barbara on the 5th and 6th, should have stayed with the Santa Maria Tourney. Good weather, great fields and good officals.

Discussion: What is the correct call?

Only as you descibed. Double play, tagging second then first. Runner in contact with bag is hit, ball is alive and so is the runner and batter. Only becomes dead when runner not in contact with bag in fair territory is hit by a batted ball. Dead ball, runner out and batter awarded first. If first basemen is in front of runner and bag and had a chance to field it and runner is hit off the bag in fair terirory its still alive as long as in the umpires judgement another fielder didn't also have a chance to field it.
Hope it helps in the future.

Discussion: Best Softball Bat

OK the new bats that have come out : Rip it Senior (black), Combat A/V discussed here I'm sure are good bats. But it seems like the bat of choice seems to come back to ASA legal Easton Synergy cnt flex. There must be some reason why a bat holes its price from $249 to $299. Even though the break in period is a little long. Once broke in watch out. The bat seems to hold in value and does not crack as much as the other bats. Just an opinion.

The bat is for ASA tournaments. The ratings are confusing but the player s who use it may have more info.

Discussion: miken 484

Has any oneone used the Miken 484? Are there any pros and cons? I'm not a power hitter but do hit line drives that find gaps. I know there are alot of claims out there from manufacturers. Also what is the difference in the camo 484. Thanks.

Discussion: xtension cataputt bat

Have any of you senior softball guru's be hitting the cataputt by akadema? ASA approved, with a price tag of $350. Need input and not from manufacturer, to put this price tag in place. Others probably would be interested too!

Discussion: New ASA black Rip-it senior bat review

I understand that distance is a issue. How did the ball come off the bats when hit in general with each bat? The answer I'm looking for is dealing with line drive threw the infield and between outfielders. The 2 USSSA bats were?

Discussion: Injury at the Winter Worlds

I understand about the fields but how about the lights? I understand that a team refused to play because of the bad lighting at cheyenne or was that not a problem either.
I also agree with the comment about any one team could have taken the AAA division. But give credit where it is due to the teams that did end up on top.
While on the subject, how did a team in the 60 AA division end up with 3 or 4 Tharaldson players on it. I guess they still could not win, but still how?

Discussion: Las Vegas Winter Worlds 06

Checked out SSUSA web sight and was refered to Arizona Charlie's and Boulder Station for room reservations. I was informed that there was a cut off date by the hotels when I called. My question is why didn't the web sight inform us that there was a cut off date for reservations at the noted places to stay. Hope there are no last minute reservation to be made by other teams. Good luck at finding a reasonable room rate.
