Oct. 17, 2019 Trotter25 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: New Adidas Senior Bats Some info to the questions that are out there about the new Suncoast Melee Max bat series. The Suncoast Group met w Senior Softball in August to announce the new brand for the Melee SR brand bats. We did the paperwork, submitted the bat testing results, paid the fees & liability Insurance requirements. This has all been taken care of before Vegas, & is on the SSUSA website as an approved bat under the Suncoast brand. The new senior 1.21 logo has been replaced with the SSUSA logo, and thats the approved logo for Senior Softball tournaments & associations.(per SSUSA) Suncoast has always had the exclusive rights on Adidas Softball & worked with Adidas on making the top tier products for the softball players. Going forward, Adidas will not be launching any new products in the bat line. They will continue to make the Adidas Melee 2-piece Endload & Balance bats thru 2020. As our agreement with Adidas was to have a bat line for at least 2 years. The Melee2 1-piece bats are no longer being made. They will be inventory thru early 2020 but then will be sold out. (with some sizes already sold) Suncoast Melee Max is made, designed by the same group, designers, testers, engineers, factory that made the Reebok Melee & the Adidas Melee Softball bats. Melee Max has: 1. 3 different models (12" end, 13" end & 13" bal) 2. New composite technology (Opti-Dura Performance Composite) 3. MAX speed handle 3/4 inch handle (thinnest in Sr market) 4. Stick & Spin tackified barrel technology 5. 60 day limited warranty (60 degrees weather) We feel that the Suncoast MELEE MAX is the best Melee & Sr bat that weve ever produced for Max Performance, Max Durability & Max Speed. Get with a Suncoast/Adidas rep to try it out. Next shipment will be in end of the month. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you on the field! Thanks, Lee Trotter Suncoast Team Adidas Softball suncoastteam@yahoo.com |

Jan. 17, 2018 Trotter25 | Topic: Bats Discussion: New 2018 Melee Reloaded Youre correct I cant go into a lot of details on how are bat is loaded exactly. We took the Melee 2 Endload and added 50% more endload to the end weight. That's why the Melee Reloaded bats are in half sizes: 25.5, 26.5, 27.5, 28.5, 29.5 Adidas just added the weight to the endweight with a small amount of counterweight. For guys that like End weights - you need to take a look at the Melee Reloaded. Im highly impressed with this bat. Took us over 2+ years to find the right design and now we have it. Thanks, Lee Trotter Suncoast Team - Adidas |
Jan. 12, 2018 Trotter25 | Topic: Bats Discussion: New 2018 Melee Reloaded The Melee 2 Endload & Melee 12" Legends of the Game are both 1/2 ou end weight. The Melee Reloaded is a 3/4ou end weight. You def can feel the weight difference between the endloads & the reload. Thanks, Lee Trotter Suncoast Team - Adidas |
Jan. 12, 2018 Trotter25 | Topic: Bats Discussion: New 2018 Melee Reloaded The New Melee Reloaded bats are here! Have had some questions about the bat and we wanted to give you some more feedback & insight on the Melee Reloaded bat: We started testing heavier end weight bats about 2 years ago when a lot of bats out there had a 1-2ou end weight. But we wanted to see what we would be best for the Senior Market. When we combined the heavier end weight with our exclusive Adi-light composite (which makes our bats swing faster) - The results were phenomenal, guys were driving the ball, being able to pull the ball instead of having the bat head drag. The best results were with the 3/4 ou end load - which gave us the Melee Reloaded Sr bat. Its the same mold as our other 13" barrel bats with 50% more end weight than the Melee 2 Endload. We also found that with the weights of 25.5, 26.5, 27.5, 28.5 & 29.5 that this bat can be used by all Sr players. Melee Reloaded bat was designed to give optimal swing speed but still feel the end weight all the way thru connecting thru the ball. Just wanted to give you some info on the New Blue Melee Reloaded bat. Happy New Year! Looking forward to seeing you & good luck to your team in 2018! Thanks, Lee Trotter Suncoast Team - Adidas suncoastteam@yahoo.com |
Dec. 22, 2017 Trotter25 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Dudley bat question Sorry to add to this post. Not my intention, but after calls & texts from a lot of concerned people - we need to get this straight. Team 0ne is not an approved rep or dealer for Adidas. Also our Adidas Pro staff & Seniors from FL (Woodlawn, Villages, Bradenton & Venice hitting clubs have been our Adidas official testers.) Weve done a lot of testing in 2017 with over 30 hit tests to compare the bats. Team One like all bat companies compare the competition bats, and I believe Alan is saying that. I think a lot of guys were getting confused and after 2 days of phone calls & texts. Just wanted to make sure that the Adidas reps & dealers are where youll get info on the adidas products. We appreciate your support & Happy Holidays! Lee Trotter Suncoast Team - Adidas suncoastteam@yahoo.com |
Dec. 6, 2017 Trotter25 | Topic: Bats Discussion: diference between melee 2 bats Guys, That is correct - the Melee 12" Legends of the Game bat does swing heavier than the Melee 2 Endload. With Adidas maintaining there performance based model in bats & using our Golf Partner "Taylormade" influences weve developed a quicker, high performance line of softball bats. Melee 12" (with the shorter barrel) gives us more of a faster head swing like a golf club to power the ball further than the other Softball bats. Melee 12" will give you more power & the Melee 2 will give you power and more consistent swings to hit to all fields. The New Melee Reloaded is made for the Melee 2 Endload guys that like more end weight. This will be coming out end of the month, and Ill give you the details when we have them here. The testing with our test groups have been very high, and is our new 2018 Adidas Sr Melee Model. Well also continue with the Melee 2 Endload & Balance bats with the Melee 12" for 2018 also. Hope that helps answer your questions. Thanks, Lee Trotter Suncoast Team - Addidas |
Nov. 23, 2016 Trotter25 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: 2017 Adidas Melee 2 We brought out the Melee 2 in April this year and will go thru 2017. This bat has achieved what Adidas R&D engineers designed it to do. It took the Org Melee added the lightest & strongest composite available to engineer a faster swinging bat with high performance & good durability. Also has the bat flex that you get out of a 2-piece but still have the 1-piece feel. That gives you more control to where you want to hit the ball. The 2017 bat will be the Melee 12" Legends of the Game Pro Player Model. It was helped designed & endorsed by our Adidas Senior Pro Staff: Davey Reed, Bobby Davis, Don Clatterbough & Steve Imlay. This bat besides being 1" shorter barrel explodes thru the hitting zone. It took us 8 more months testing on this bat then the Melee 2. We strengthened up the handle flex to cut down on the whip from the swing. The testers are from 40 to 75 year olds & everybody just loved the feel & pop from the bat. This will be available in limited quantities end of Dec this year. Demos of the Melee 12" will be with the authorized reps from Suncoast Team. Hopefully that answers the questions that are out there. We are currently also testing 2-piece bats to add to our Senior Bat line. Happy Thanksgiving to all the Senior Players from Suncoast Team & Adidas Softball! Sept. 8, 2016 Trotter25 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Vendors What weve been told is that all Bat vendors must be at Big League Dreams. So Suncoast Adidas will be there and at all Managers meeting. Let us know if we can help! Thanks, Lee Trotter Suncoast Team - Adidas suncoastteam@yahoo.com |
Sept. 8, 2016 Trotter25 | Topic: Product review Discussion: Cleats Well weve been working closely with Adidas and have come out with about 4 different shoes for all different types of feet & needs. Adidas Bounce has a side saddle lace system to give you added suport. Trail shoe & running shoe weve adopted for the softball field. Power Alley Quag is like the (Reebok Zig Quag) very light and durable in all 5 team colors. Turf Hog shoes are a Midtop that has some similar things that Tanel offered. Great turf shoe. Speed Trainer Turfs (Wide Shoe) is used by Adidas coaches on the field. Very comfortable and lightweight. All of these shoes will be on display at Vegas. Were very excited about providing a comfortable and durable shoes. Look forward to seeing you in Vegas! Thanks, Lee Trotter Suncoast Team - Adidas suncoastteam@yhoo.com |
Aug. 27, 2016 Trotter25 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Miken 2 piece balalanced vs. Adidas me lee 2 balanced When talking with a lot of Seniors we tried to capture the best of both worlds. Adidas Melee 2 is a 1-piece bat which most Seniors like, with the added flex from the Melee 2 Composite gives you the performance of a 2-piece bat. It took us a while to find that happy medium of the bat flex & make it swing faster with high performance. Most Seniors wanted to have there bat as game ready as possible. Same thing with our 12" bat were launching for 2017. Weve done extensive testing on that and had to take down the flex because of the shorter barrel was coming around real quick. Hope that helps give you some insight on the Melee 2. Thanks, Lee Trotter Suncoast Team suncoastteam@yahoo.com |
Aug. 27, 2016 Trotter25 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Melee2 hair line crack Yes thats the clear coat stress from the barrel flex. Adidas R&D tried to minimize the spider cracking that we got from the org Reebok Melee. The way that the Melee 2 composite is laid out & made is to give max barrel flex to get more performance out of it. It will have stress cracks. You'll get straight lines on the Melee 2 barrel and if you take care of your Melee 2, and once you get to that point its your "gamer" bat. Good luck on the fields! June 3, 2016 Trotter25 | Topic: Bats Discussion: 2016 melee Yes - Red is Balanced, Green is Endload. With the Balance Bats you get more control, and your hands will roll over quicker. The Endload is more for Power Hitters that want to drive the ball. The Balls that I would recommend would be the ones you swing in your games. Some people believe hitting a stadium ball will help break the bat in faster. It will but it will also reduce the life of the bat. Im not a believer in doing that. I want a ball that will be similar to what will be used in games. That way you can get the feel on how much you have to cut the ball to get either backspin for power & topspin for base hitting. Appreciate the questions! Thanks, Lee Trotter Suncoast Team - Adidas suncoastteam@yahoo.com |
June 2, 2016 Trotter25 | Topic: Bats Discussion: 2016 melee Alan - Correct the Patriot bat has a 25ou bat, but at the time we launched this Melee 2 bat it was not out yet. Also my reference is to the 25ou Melee 2 Balanced Bat that I have not seen out for anybody to try. In closing on this - we tried to make a bat that could cover about 90% of the Senior Softball market. Having a 25ou Balance & Endload thru a progression of weights to a 30 Balance & Endload does that. Swing for the Fence - I thought your comment was very funny! With saying everybodys bat is hotter than everyone else's and adding the distance together. Well have guys hitting them 600 ft very soon. LOL - Even Gorilla Boy Mike - would laugh at that! In trying to answer the questions that everyone is asking about the Melee 2 bats. My only reference to another bat is to the original Reebok Melee. That bat is 6 years old and the composite technology then compared to now is not even close. The Melee 2 is stronger, bigger sweet spot, more distance & much more durable than the original Reebok Melee. From our Adidas Pro Staff (heres what they swing): Davey Reed - swings 27 & 28ou Endload (moved up 1 ou in Melee 2) Bobby Davis - swings the 26ou Endload (moved down an ou.) Ray Wimbrough - swings 25 & 26 Endload (switched to End from Balance) Don Clatterbough - swings 30ou Endload (says perfect weight) Dale Mayo - swings 30ou Endload (went up an ou.) Steve Imlay - swings 30ou Endload (felt same way Don & Dale) So you see our Pro Staff made changes to what best for there swing. Also most of them will have 2 different weights and some carry a balance bat in there bag for more bat control. The last question on breaking in the bat? So many variables in that: 1. How strong the hitter is. 2. What ball is used. 3. Are the balls water logged. 4. Are u rotating the bat after each hit. 5. Are u hitting the balls to all fields. 6. Do u cut the ball or do u hit the ball square. Doug 60 - 10 swings def is not enough swings to have the bat loose enough or "game ready". The range that Im finding out is 40 - 200 swings and the bat is game ready. We took a brand new Melee 2 balance bat out of the wrapper and did hit a lot of Hr's out of the Baseball field for our video that we shot. https://youtu.be/TEvjyVEOQCU Hopefully - that will help answer some questions that you guys have. Please feel free to email me anything specific, and hope to see you out on the field soon! Thanks, Lee Trotter Suncoast Team - Adidas suncoastteam@yahoo.com |
May 31, 2016 Trotter25 | Topic: Bats Discussion: 2016 melee Kevin, Sorry I didnt know that the Nightmare bats came in 25ou bats. Since the Nightmare was made more for the heavy end weight guys we didnt compare it to the melee 2. Were looking for a bat to help the Womens & 70+ guys with the 25ou Melee 2 balanced bats. We didnt find a 25ou bat made in the balance bats except for USSSA bats. Doug - I will ask our testers what they feel the break in is. We did our testing with 40, 50 , 60 & 70 year old guys. Our oldest is Zeb Carter and a very good hitter in the 70 age group. Well get back to you. Thanks, Lee Trotter Suncoast Team - Adidas |
May 28, 2016 Trotter25 | Topic: Bats Discussion: 2016 melee Guys & Ladies, I just wanted to give you an update and answer a lot of questions that are being asked. The bats are continually being made since end of February and hasnt stopped. There are no numbers that reference which "batch" its made in. Question on what part of the market did Adidas Melee 2 target? We targeted the Senior Market more of the 90% of the Senior Players. Now the Major+ 40 & 50 guys that cut the ball will get a lot of life out of the bats. But mainly Adidas wanted the Best performing bat on the market and with being the first bat company to make senior softball bats for the women & guys who want to swing faster by adding the 25ou bats to the line. We appreciate all of the feedback and what you like and dont like about the bat. What some people dont like is how fast it swings or not as durable or getting 2000 swings on it. As we have said this is a performance bat and you have to get used to the swing. Some guys can pick it up and feel very natural to them, other guys need to get a couple of BP sessions and have 100-200 swings on it before they really get the swing down. There will be a 12" bat with a 25ou bat & a 30ou bat coming out in the fall, that will give more of the end weights that some of the players like. Softball Senior Bat Reviews did a review on the Adidas Melee 2 and gave there feelings and comments on the Melee 2 Bats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxRSdh8hixk A lot of the comments they said are very true in the design of the Melee 2. We did change the load of the bats to make it more progressive and give the 28 & 30 more end weight feel. The 25ou feels like swinging a tennis racket, but you really can put the ball anywhere you want to. The comment on the Taylor made technology might be a little off in the video. Personally I was able to swing the non - Taylormade shaft on the bat versus the Taylormade technology added bat which we have now in the Melee 2. That was a no brainer on the decision to what to make the bat. The Taylormade technology gave us the bat flex, speed off the bat & the bigger sweet spot that everyone wanted. It continued in the Reebok Melee tradition and evolved with all of the new technology thats been put into the Adidas Melee 2. If you have any other questions please feel free to email me and Ill try to get back in touch with you asap. Good Luck to all of the Teams & Players now that were really getting into the season. Hope to see you on the field soon! Thanks, Lee Trotter Suncoast Team - Adidas suncoastteam@yahoo.com |
