Discussion: Ed Andrews

Not sure if this has been reported. I juts learned that Ed Andrews (Fast Eddie) passed away in July. I met Ed 2006 in Phx at the Worlds. My team OTD was short a couple of players and Ed was in the stands looking to play. We got a waver for Ed to play because his team pulled out at last minute and Ed had driven all the way from Colorado. Ed loved his Softball and would jump in his truck and drive all over to play. He played all levels for many teams. RIP my Friend.

Discussion: Steve Marshal passing

Hi Ed and Bruce, It was a shock to everyone here in Tucson. He had just played ball the Sunday before he passed and seemed to be in good shape. It was sad to learn today that his 97 year old mother passed last Wed. leaving behind his father.

Steve was also a big part of OTD softball for many years at Sportspark and helped in getting OTD started in SSUSA. He was also a very well respected Realtor in Tucson. I will miss you my friend.

Would like to add that OTD played in every LVSSA Maters since 9/14/01 at the 50/55/60 level untill this year so we did support LVSSA and enjoyed our trips there. This was the first year I went as just a "player" and had a blast untill I came up lame in the last game. About 5 years ago was knocked out cold by a ball to the back of the head but still kept going back for some crazy reason oh that's right for "fun" LMAO.

I should have added that OTD folded after key players moved on to other teams and I steped down as manager. Some of the guy's moved down to play with a couple of local Tucson teams. The team I played on in LV only hit 3 home runs in 7 games. Two of the other "AA" teams that got moved up hit 6 out in one game. We played Aro Glass 4 out of 7 games a very good AAA team and even better guy's I enjoyed playing you guy's. Best of luck to all the teams going to Phx this year stay safe and have "fun"

On another note, one of the players that rode back with me passed out and I gave him CPR. He was taken to the Kingman Hospital and thank god is doing great. If you do not know how to perform CPR learn. I learned at a meeting in Tucson for all the players of the Tucson Sunday league.

No "real story" here. Only 4 OTD players from last years team. Only two that started and the Manager (me) that never played. It is a Sunday league team that has not played in a tourny all year long. We got hot in the open inning scored 19 runs. Next game got run ruled by another "AA" team after only scoring 12 runs. Agian no "real story" just a bunch of buddy's that wanted to play for the fun of it. It started out a AAA AA bracket. Ended up with 4 AAA and 5 AA teams. Congrats to the Aro Glass team played 4 in a row and did double dipp us. Great bunch of guy's good luck in Phx.
