Discussion: Adding New Players

Want to go to Loudoun tourney in May. Carolina Blue Sky 75's has qualified. Team got blitzed recently as to losing players. Looks like we cannot add players unless we filed newbies by Jan 2017, per rules.
Have only 10 available to go and need to add 3, possibly 4.
Those four did not play with us at the August qualifier and were not added to the roster in Jan by the manager.
They have been playing with us with us since Myrtle Beach in March.
Any chance in getting them eligible? Not trying to game the system, just trying to get a decent and reasonably compettive team there.
Otherwise, we're toast.
Thanks,
Joe

Discussion: Richmond Tournament

One 70's team and one 75's.
SSSUA local asked a 65's Majors to stay over and make it "worthwhile" for the two signed up.
65's Major had won the 55's and 60's the day before. An elite team.
Needless to say, was a laugher for them and painful for the 70's and 75's.
Appreciate them volunteering to play it out, but this should not have happened.
Richmond tourney had been canceled two prior years (lack of teams)and I was concerned that this could be a recurring problem.
Heard the "youngers" had a good group of teams to compete with. Glad to see them have a good tourney.
Both the 70's and 75's voted not to return next year.
Know SSUSA can't control number of sign ups, but one each for 70 and 75?... SHB canceled, in advance.

Discussion: Pitching masks revisited

From an infielder who does not pitch, I am amazed by the reaction of pitchers on shots up the middle. Playing third base and about fifteen feet deeper than a pitcher, I've almost had my head torn off, plus other areas of the body.
When the gut of the infield is wide open, expect shots there.
I would defer to any pitcher as optional... but sure as heck don't want to have what happened in Charleston a few years back... throat shot and gone before EMS could arrive. Mask wouldn't have saved him, but I can understand SSUSA going the safety route.

Carolina Cardinals 70's has registered for June Richmond tournament.
Past two years Richmond has been canceled.
Anyone signed up in 70's and/or 75's so far? Guys are trying to firm up plans.
Thanks, Joe Glasson
