Discussion: gsc bat latest web site update

Please,jJust produce and sell a good warrantied senior bat at a reasonable price This honor to God stuf, in relation to producing a bat seems a load. Give all your belongings and service to the poor if you wish to honor God, and you will be rewarded for eternity , That is what I believe Jesus asked. Or you can send some money to a tv evangelists and you can be told its ok to be greedy. SORRY, believe what you want, just tired of hearing the self ish sounding use of religion. I have decided I would rather buy a non warrantied bat that comes free of using God in its promotion. None of us are perfect, religion helps many people, it is just too often misused. No disrespect intended, just expressing a feeling. I truely wish the best to all involved with GSC.

Discussion: gsc apology due

Previously I stated, based on what Steve (gsc) said, that I believed by the end of August I would be holding a new gsc veteran bat. I was wrong. I apologize. I think a bit of humility from GSC would also be appropriate, shown by some apology. Perhaps an apology might be interpreted as weakness, at least it would convey a respect for the inconvenience the false promises have caused. It's only a bat to players, and enormously more to Steve, hopefully this still works out. Perhaps tomorrow the bat will roll out as last promised, most players though have moved on. Hopefully those involved in the GSC Veteran bat product can move on with integrity.

Fabe Your opinion is appreciated, you were seemingly repeating something. I like hearing updates on this and other bats. This board and can be interesting and valueable evaluating different bats under different conditions. Your last posts give new info., Thanks for the effort.

Fabe, No disrespect, but you are starting to sound like a paid pumper. You like the bat, and you live in the tropics, got it. lets encourage more reviews. I like the bat so far, but want to hear others. I'm sure there are many who would appreciate more independent opinions. Thanks for yours.

Ambush evaluation. After about 100 break in swings and one tournament, about 60' temp, nothing to shout about. Some said the ambush sounded different. My cracked Melee hit about as good or better. Will inform of improvements. I still like the graphics and if the durability holds up I will be happy. I break bats often.

Discussion: non tournament players

Canjack, Sorry to hear about some tournament players not having a life. Most of the guys I play tournaments with do have lives. FYI, I will decide what to get upset about. As far as tournament players, I wanted to clarify something, which was mostly accomplished. As to the Gary19 thing, I don't know why people don't ignore him, it's useless to argue with him. I suppose, you could try and act like a tough guy and call him names or throw insults, if thats your style. Anyway good luck on your tournaments, they are a lot of fun. I just don't like making them my life. Been there.

Tri18, Thank you, You hadn't actually stated it was not a repaint and the research and testing mentioned could have been interpreted as applying to a prior combat Hopefully this will be helpful to promoting the bat. Best of luck

Tri18, Simple question. Is the ambush a repainted combat? I feel a little bad asking, but I would feel worst not asking. Just say no and its done. I have liked the bat so far but with limited comparison. As consumers we have the obligation to ask questions. I am happy just buying the bat based on the paint job, anything else is ice cream. I had already decided on buying a combat. I wish you the best.

Tri18, My Dad taught me about B.S., the ambush may be very good but what is the difference inside. You don't have to give trade secrets, just if it is different because of material used, manufacturing process or what. No insults intended, we know hype is part of selling, especially with a limited edition model, but facts carry more weight. Bat feel is very subjective, I assure you and others if this bat seems different I will give my honest assessment, of course the bat may be sold out by then. Hit them straight

The ambush does looks exactly like my last black combat except repainted. I do like the paint job. Side by side the shape is exact. Probably is just repainted, seemed to hit good so far. If it was made different, I wonder what and how.

Gary 19, I think its about respect. You are intelligent, and know you are often insulting. I believe you are likely a good guy if met personally. I believe this message board can be addicting and encourage confrontation. Non of us are perfect. Lets just cut each other some slack. Admittedly, the remarks and attitudes of some on this board can warrant confrontation, but it can get carried away. I wish you and yours the best, Maybe we just get caught up in this stuff and lose perspective. I know Ive said more than enough.

Discussion: non tournament players

I do occasionally play tournaments and know a lot of tournament players who aren't that skilled but who enjoy the tournaments. Just seems that generalizations can cause unnecessary offense. The real problem appears that of disrespect. People visiting this board can get the impression of disrespect to non tournament players. I'm sure that is not usually the intent. Don't know what causes someone to engage in the repetitious attacks refered to. There are problems involved with playing senior softball, that can be improved, but it is disrespectful to keep repeating the gripes implying everybody else is stupid. That is truely stupid. I, like most, believe the game is a gift which should be respected and enjoyed by those involved, but improvements are needed, even if suggested by non tournament players. Generalizations lead to prejudice if not applied judiciously.

Discussion: non tournament players

Some make reference to non tournament players implying they are all less skilled than tournament players. I have played with many non tournament players who for a multitude of reasons don't play tournaments. Some have played professional baseball and are still top athletes. It is not valid to assume non tournament players are always less skilled. I played with some local players years ago in a major tournament nearby, which we won. We declined going to the world championship in Canada, because of the time and money. Its great that you play tournaments, but some great players don't play tournaments and are not lesser players because of it. If non tournament players are not welcome on this board, as some imply, make that clear. I don't think that is the stated purpose of the message board.

Gary 19, look how most of these discussions you are involved in turn out We only have so many breaths, why waste them. Senior softball is a gift our fathers never had, its not perfect, improve what you can, enjoy what you have.

Do what you want, but it seems a waste all the time and energy spent by some on this board. What is the motivation, by some, to post those thousands of times with such negative results. Nobody is perfect, what is the contribution in continuing to slight others ideas and preferences. Lack of respect for others usually reflects lack of self respect. Anyway, too bad so much nonsense, posing as intelligence interferes with the real purpose of this board. I know I don't want to share more than minimally due to the negative climate cultivated by the same few who seem to be lacking something very fundamental. How about more respect and positive purpose to comments.

Shut Up and Piitch, what is your need to refer to me as Private d5. Do you have a purpose. I have been a private and was proud of it. Anyway, your intended slight duly noted. No need to give Olden Slow hitting advice on this thread while the general tone has been turned negative. We could get into a pissing contest which appears your intent. My intent is to encourage constructive posts without the disparaging comments which too often occurs. I realized my efforts would solicit attacks by some, but thats fine, if it contributes to more thoughtfulness toward others. I stopped posting for a while after seeing how often peoples posts were attacked by some people. So I have told you my purpose is to take up occasionally for those I see slighted. I hope my limited effort while make a positive contribution to what is a good message board for senior softball. Again, what is your intent, is it something you can be proud of.

Discussion: Open or Closed stance..

Swing for the fences, thanks for hopefully getting this back on a constructive purpose My contribution is that I use a different stance based on what I am aiming for. A closed stance allows me to wait longer for the ball with my front shoulder tucked back under my chin. The closed stance allows me more constancy. An open stance allows good vision with my dominate right eye as a right handed hitter. I also get more power if I use a high leg kick. The problem with the high leg kick is you have to get the front foot down in time, which can be a timing problem. Without the leg kick power can be lost with the open stance. An open stance can also help if you tend to not let the ball get deep into your hitting area. Like said, this can be an interesting topic if one wants to get into it. I don't like coming off as a know all and like to hear and respect others ideas.
