Discussion: Thrown Ball "Out Of Play"

Is there an exception when a thrown ball goes out of play after touching a defensive player that only 1 base is awarded?

SSUSA Staff...Please clarify when a thrown ball goes out of play; when are two bases awarded
versus one base..

Has anyone tried the Combat Maxum senior bat? It is very hard to find any information on this bat (other than manufactures specs) and it seems like it was in very limited production and supply.

Discussion: Please Forgive My Naivete!

How lucky are we that at our age we still get to PLAY a GAME; and the added benefit of making friends with so many different people.
Yet, I have never met anyone who plays this game "to lose"; winning is just part of the American DNA and God willing we all get to experience it once in awhile.

Noticed that the Louisville Senior Hyper Z due out 1/02/15. Bat graphics much better than protos looked like. Anyone had opportunity to hit the 2015 model yet?

Discussion: DeMarini Senior ONE Endload

I too have used all three versions of the Senior One; and agree that the latest end-load is by far the best they have made. However I have also thought that the "sweet-spot" is smaller than on other senior bats and less forgiving. RECENTLY I have changed over to the Worth Senior Legit; now this bat I beleive is truely over-looked. The feel is great, ball exit speed is awsome, and the break-in is quick. Sometimes the "hype" on other senior bats gives you the ability to find GREAT deals on others; especially when the "hype" is coming from those that sell the hyped bat!

SCUBA: I saw the play in question; and as you know the Umpire did make the correct call at that time!

I thought the same as you.....There was no intent by the on-deck
hitter to try and interfer. I just cann't find an answer to this in SSUSA Rule Book.

Should have said interference by the on deck batter, causing the ball to go out of play.

Discussion: Thrown Ball

Set-Up: Runners on 1st and 2nd; Batter hits a ground ball into the outfield. The runners have not aquired 2nd and 3rd when the outfielder throws the ball towards the infield. The thrown ball goes through the infield and hits the on-deck player in the foot and goes into the dug out. The on deck batter tried to avoid the ball but it hit his foot anyway. The umpire in this case called the batter out (3rd out) for interference. Was this the right call?

Discussion: Reebok Barrage

I actually sent my Barrage back to Reebok with the info Alan gave me. They then contacted me by phone to inform me they would send a refund check for the full amount in 5 to 8 weeks. The check arrived in less than 2 weeks.

Some proto's were out for awhile for testing and they were awesome; would be a great addition to an already hot Z family.

My question: Is the appeal play valid, with an umpire advising the defensive team the base was missed?

Discussion: Umpire Mistake

Question:
A Base Umpire (mistakenly) made a comment that a base runner missed touching a base; the defensive team then made appeal play on the base missed, and the same umpire called the runner out! This seemed wrong and can find nothing in the rules concerning how this should have been handled.

I commend you on the way you are handling the Barrage problem; much better than buyer sending bat back to Reebok and getting a gift card six weeks later.!!!!!!
