Phil,

Could you send me your email address at klange11@verizon.net. I have something that I would like to discuss with you which might be to both or our benefit. Thanks.

Sal, spoken like a true hitter, lol.

Gekle, I agree with all you said. I'm an old 16" hitter, and think a man up the middle would be a great addition to softball. No more rollers up the middle going for cheap hits. It would tighten up the other holes too. More double-plays and tighter defense would make the game a lot more fun.

Gekle, I think they went 2 and 3 in Phoenix, and they won the SPA last year. We split with them in Phoenix, and I thought they were pretty good.

Is West Coast going to be fielding a team in the major division this year? If they are, it's good news. Phil, you out there?

I don't want to argue with you. I just think religion and politics are too sensitive as subjects, and shouldn't be discussed on a forum like this. If you want to invite people to interact with you on this subject, post your email address. And as for the Gary comment, it was a joke. Besides, he has gone out of his way on numerous occasions to try to get people's goat on this board. A little humor at his expense isn't going too far. I think even he would agree with that. Anyway, I hope you have a good day

Everyone has a right to believe what they want, but this is a softball board, and I think it's not appropriate to discuss religion or politics here. JMO.

And Gary, I can definitely see you with your head on a swivel. Kinda like Linda Blair, lol. J/K

If hitting 5 or more per game makes you a true major team, how many should a AAA team hit? And how many per game would make you a major + team? This isn’t meant to be a wise-ass comment, I really want to know what you think the different levels should be hitting. And if a major team doesn’t hit 5 or more per game, are they really a major team, or what if they don’t even hit any? Thanks in advance for your answer.

Corky, good luck trying to get an answer from "the decision maker". We appealed last year, never got an answer to multiple emails and calls, and still don’t have the official letter denying our appeal. He does what he wants, when he wants, regardless if he has all the facts or not.

Einstein, why would you want to change the rules AGAIN to help the pitcher (besides the obvious reason, you pitch)? Adjusting the pitching rules would take more fun out of the game than any new ball ever would. Jesus, just try the new ball. It might work. Last year, at the Winter Worlds, the homers were flying out like crazy. We had guys on our team, who hardly ever get it to the track, hitting it out. Something had to be done.

Hey Chick, how ya doin. Enjoying the brisk winter, lol? I did talk to Joe last April. We exchanged emails and I told him I had talked to you and that you were interested in talking to him. He’s in Kingsport, Tennessee, if you can believe that. Send me your email address at klange11@verizon.net and I’ll forward his info. Thanks. Stay warm.

Discussion: Home Run Rule

Guys, I’m not sure what is fair. We played 55 Major in Menifee last week and didn’t hit ANY home runs, and that’s pretty much what you’re going to see from us all the time. The other teams were trying to save their homers for the end of the game, so we were able to keep it close. It seems that the 5 and outs way just might keep it close for the major teams that have no power. We played a tournament in December with the 5 and then singles option and in one game, the other team must have hit a dozen out and killed us. I think it’s too early to tell.

Wideglide,

Years ago I remember having "a swig at Nig's" and eating the best hamburgers ever at Monks bar and grill in the Dells. We used to camp at Devil's Lake and even drank beer at the Circus bar in Baraboo, 7 oz drafts, lol. Always had a great time up there. Good luck finding your team.

You sold me. Twice last year I scraped the skin off my lower leg wearing shorts, and got bad infections from not cleaning the area well that prolonged the healing. I'll be going to long pants, even tho I have beautiful legs.

Mad dog, I guess the idea is that one might be less apt to run his/her mouth if people can actually see who is saying it. It does make me wonder.

Jano, it’s more than a little unsettling to learn that you have firearms up on that hill. I’m getting out while the getting is good. By the way, I’m guessing that you wrote that after a late night meeting with J. Daniels, lol.

Einstein, why don’t you leave the political metaphors for some other message board. In the last two days you have invoked Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin in your rants. You don’t see anyone bringing up Nancy Pelosi do you? Maybe you should have taught drivers ed. like a lot of other teachers in the summer. Then you could have picked your own station and wouldn’t have had to listen to Limbaugh. Keep it to softball and we’ll all be happy.

Discussion: team ratings?

Airbosn, from what I understand, SSUSA TDs are supposed to send in an evaluation of the teams after every tournament, and “Terry and the Pirates” (lol) are supposed to use them as a tool in rating the teams. I also heard that a lot of them are disgusted that their evaluations are being ignored, and run differential is primarily what they use to make their decision.
