Where I play the infield does not have any grass---to many ump's call IF
out in the grass--we have so many player on the infield if someone would
just hold out there hand the ball should fall into one of them

I'm just an old guy who can remember what REAL softball/baseball was like.

1.If you want speed up the game, and I do know why you would, you can do
away with third base and just have everyone just run to second.

2. If you want to play seven innings you just do away with the clock.

3. Or you could have the umpires enforce the runner rule. I play in
two age levels and play one or more tournaments a month and I know that
we spend at leased a total of one innings, both teams, per game waiting
for--- one the coach to decide if he is going to put in a runner
Two if does wants to he then has to find someone to run
Three then they have to get him out of the bathroom or he's over
talking to his other half

Discussion: National Senior Games In Birmingham AL

Kev
Most of the info above is correct, but!
You need some more info. The senior games are held every four
years. You must play in a state tournament and be in the top
three in each age group to qualify for National games. I have
been to the one in Kentucky, San Francisco and Cleveland. Yes
they cost more but if you like to play ball it's a chance to
play with people you have not played with, assuming you start
a new team, and play against teams you have not played against
before. It is very hard to get commitments from player for
this tournament because you play state tournament one year and
National the next. I have played 65 70 and 75 and found that
most teams had some very good player and some very bad player
so it all came out even in end. Cleveland was the best one
of the three that I played in. Not sure when the next National
games are but I think next year 2018. Each state has it's own
rules. Tenn will not let you play on their softball team unless
you live in the state. I think the rules are, check them out, if there is not a team in your state you can play in another state.
Kentucky has not every had a team even when the tournament
was here. If you put a team together I would like to tryout with
you, 65, 70 ,75. Yes, it's like the Huntsman games, they make it last 7 days.

Discussion: Can you get faster?

the first ? is why do you want to run faster?? If are or have been
fast and if you just want to turn a single into a double work on
getting out of the batter box faster and making the turn at first
base. I'm 75 and run for 65-70 and 75's. I like to make it from
first to third on a grounder to out field. If you get your steps
down and your turn at second it's easy. Also you plan on 50% bad
throws from the out field or 50% of the time the third baseman
will not catch the throw

If you did not have the pool games who would be

I can tell you after running some tournaments it
does not make any difference if you do it in
2 days of 3 days or 4 days there will be complaints by more than one or two. I stopped
doing it because we, as a group, are not very
nice people and can some time just be cruel
