Discussion: Flip Flop in the Worlds?

I'm not going to get into team names but as a player on one of them we found ourselves in a flip flop situation. We were the visitors up 11 runs against a very good hitting team going into the open inning. The umpire called for a flip flop. Our team hit well enough to put this other team in this position and should have been able to put this game away. Unfortunately the flip allowed the other team to get into a rhythm. They scored I believe 18 runs in the open. We were unable to respond in the bottom of the 7th thus losing the game. Flip Flop shouldn't punish a team that still had momentum heading into the open. The second thought on this is: If you are going with run differentials for placements, you could possibly punish a team. Lets say that In this situation the team had scored 12 runs and then we were able to answer back with 2 runs we would have then only had the 1 run added to our total run differential. I realize that there are several what (if) scenarios here but I felt it was food for thought. How about keep flip flop in league and keep it out of the worlds.

I'm not one to complain about umpires because I am one in my local area but I have to strongly agree. There were a few good umps but they were definitely overshadowed by the ridiculous calls of the bad umps. Shame on the league for subjecting all the teams that traveled so far and spent so much money to get there. I know that regardless of the call an umpire makes he is sure to piss one team or the other. But there was a lot of bad calls really bad calls, and lack of focus as to balls, strikes and outs. Very dissapointing ending to a long year of tournament ball.

Discussion: Looking for a new team for 2013

Ok, looking for a new team for 2013. I played in the 50 Major division last season. We did well overall throughout the year though there was just way too much internal conflict with this team. I just turned 50 and have been playing ball all my life. I still currently play league ball 5 nights a week. I still play local tournaments with the youngsters pretty much every weekend. I play SS, outfield and pitch. I still hit with power and can use all parts of the field. I'm 6'1 195 lbs and can still run with speed. I'm located in Southern Ca. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. If you wish to contact direct please use this email. freakingchaos@gmail.com I'm also open to play in any division.
