Discussion: New rule

I think the major and major plus divisions should be rolled into one division.

Again Please Quit Changing the Rules.

We come to tournaments to play ball not the have the game times reduced. Not a factor anyway as you can only score so many runs per inning anyway so what does it matter if it is a walk not a DBO.

Rule change made for no good reason as i can see.

LISTEN TO THE PLAYERS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just saying.

400,

I have always wanted to be te complete player. I usually hit the 5-6 when i mishit. I will say again i have not talked to anyone who thinks this is a step in the right direction. What is wrong with a 60 year old hitting a homerun and it counting. DBO is just a way to shorten the game.

I thought the game was for the players not the associations who make money on the tourneys.

I will play where you can swing away.

Again DBO terrible for the game.

Again can someone from the SSUSA staff address WHY the rules have changed as it relates to the DBO rule after the homerun limit.

What or who does it hurt to have homeruns count as walks instead of outs?????

I haven't heard from one person who likes this change. WHY!!

I thought that this game was for the players!! WHY!!!

I am 61 years old, work out 5 days a week, hit twice a week and now have to work at hitting the ball down. WHY!!!!

If you are going the change the rules please respect us enough as players to give us the reasons WHY.

Bad Change, back to the pitchers having to pay for it. SSUSA knows that so thats the reason for the facemask.

I don't know many cowardly POS"s that hit up the middle. I also don't know anyone who hits at the pitcher. I know alot of guys who hit either side of the pitcher because it is a good place for hits. The amount of homeruns is not the issue it is the DBO's after the limit. Our team will look at the schedule and decide if we want to play these tournaments.

I will tell you it is a fact that more balls will be up the middle after the limits are gone.

Can anyone from SSUSA staff explain why the rule had to be changed??

Discussion: Playing after knee replacement?

Webbie,

Just had arthropic surgery on my right knee last week. Rehab going good.

Good luck with your replacement. Hope to see you soon or at least Dalton.

Tore my achilles tendon in 2 places 10 years ago and doctor told me i would always walk with a limp and definitely no running. Keep your head up, God makes those decisions for us not doctors.

Mike,

Balls were great in Las Vegas. Wish SSUSA used them in all tournaments they have, especially here in the south where the humidity and heat is death on balls. I was told in Raleigh by an SSUSA official that they won't use the Rock because of cost issues. Let the teams pay the difference if that is the case. Players want to hit good balls.

Big Mike,

I watch you on youtube all the time. That was the good old days, no limits, no divisions just play softball. I say make 2 divisions in senior softball, good-live ball ( Rock, tatoo ), and less lively ball, trump stote, or something as dead in the heat Let every team decide what division they want to play in.

Wish we had some of the old Steele balls. haha

See you soon my friend,

Discussion: Softball and hot weather!!

webbie i will travel anywhere to hit a good ball. Softball is supposed to be fun and softball is about hitting. I got hit in the head by a bad hop in Las Vegas 4 years ago playing MTC in the finals in Las Vegas. Last inning too. haha

I will never complain about a ball being to hot. I play first base on a good 50 major team here in the south and trust me there are some rockets hit down my way. I love the competition and our team loves to hit good balls.

See you in Las Vegas and For Marv quit worrying about the balls lets just hope LVSSA keeps the "Rock".

Guys,

Just another opinion but i will take a good ball over the stote socks here in the south where we have 100 degrees and 100% humidity. Our 60 team played in Raleigh this year and i have never hit a worse ball than the trump stote that weekend. Our team only hit 4 homeruns all weekend. All the teams were complaining. The only 50 major plus team that played hit 3 homeruns in the 3 round robin games. The balls did not even make a sound when you hit them.

Give me a good ball, rock, anytime over the stote. I don't recall any injuries in Vegas in April when we used the rock. I will take a complaint over the knuckle ball line drive over the poof of a rolled up sock, Trump Stote.

I would not travel to Las Vegas if we were hitting the same ball we hit in Raleigh. I'm just saying.

Congratulations to all the teams that won and played in Raleigh.

After saying that something needs to be done about the balls used here in the south. We have high temps and high humidity and the balls used were like rolled up socks all weekend. I played in the 60 division and we hit 4 homeruns all weekend. Even the 50 major plus teams were not able to consistently hit it out. Every team that i talked to complained about the balls.

Please SSUSA staff consider other options than the trump stote ball for tourneys here in the south. No fun to hit a rolled up sock. 95 degrees and 100% humidity makes for no fun with the stote balls. I know i am not the first one to say this about those balls. If it is an expense thing i guarantee that teams will pay the diffence for a better ball as most tourneys are hit your own now.

I'm just saying.

Webbie and D&K,

Great fun and great games in Vegas. That is what you play the game for, close games and great competition. Great hitters and players on both teams but even better guys.

Always enjoy seeing and playing against the West Coast boys. The fields were pure enjoyment for an old Southern boy who is used to just seeing chain link parks. I thought Reno was the best but now i think Las Vegas. Hope we get to play there again in September.

See you guys soon.

Discussion: The Rock balls

Hey Webbie,

My thoughts on the balls are this. I really enjoy the rock balls. In the south where we play most of our tournaments we hit the stote in SSUSA tourneys.

They are good when the temperatures are below 80, usually winter nationals or TOC. Summer tourneys around in the south the temps and the humidity make the stote a rolled up sock during daylight hours. No fun to hit them.

Most teams down here feel the same way about them. Differend environment down here in Dixie. Give us the Rock anytime.

Adiktiv Sports was accidently moved by SPA to Major plus. That mistake was rectified later today by Ridge Hooks.

Adiktiv Sports will be 50 major this year.

Maddog,

The rock they use in LVSSA was great in the heat. We played in las vegas and the heat was over 100 and played during the middle of the day and the balls were great. Alot better than the stote. The stote in the south is a mush ball during the hot part of the day.

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know with the rule changes for next year to match with LVSSA rules will the ball also be the "rock" ball used in Las Vegas?

It is a great ball that really holds up well in the heat. Being from the South the ball really makes a difference with the heat and humidity we have down here in the summers.

The stote and rock are both Trump balls and most players will agree that the best ball should be used.

Discussion: RED FLAGS FLYING OVER LVSSA/SSUSA MERGER

I played in Las Vegas two weeks ago in the 55 major plus division. We won 3 round robin games and then scored almost 100 runs in our two losses in the tournament. After saying that this was the most fun tournament that our team played in all year. Great competition, great ball and all the hitting and defense you wanted. Whats wrong with playing a 2 hour game? We play to play and the two hour games we played were nothing but fun. Few balls were hit up the middle because you could take a full swing.

Hope they keep the "Rock" ball in the new tournament as it stayed good all day, even in the heat, not like the balls usually used by SSUSA in their tournaments.

Hey 19,

The name calling was what you are calling Joe.

He loves the game as much as you and i and he is just stating his opinion.

Joe can hit with any bat and again i have played against Joe for 10 years and he is a great hitter.

I don't usually get on here but just thought i would add to the conversation.

Discussion: Todays game?

Hey 19,

Many of my friends play AAA and they really enjoy it. They are men. My statement had to do with the update of equipment, especially bats. 10 years ago when i started playing senior softball everyone couldn't hit a ball 300 ft. The composite bat, ultra II changed the game. It was not a pompous statement just the truth.

Why do you have to call people names?

Just because they don't agree with you?

People that know me know that i don't have a superiority complex.

Maybe you and i could meet at one of the world tournaments and discuss face to face.

Hey 19,

Don't know who you are and really don't care. If in your mind someone is pompous for stating their opinion then i suggest you look in the mirror to see pompous.

I have been known to speak my mind and i will continue to do so.

I took a header playing first base last year in the last inning of the championship game against MTC 55 major plus team in Las Vegas. I never thought the ball was to hard or the bats to lively, just part of the game. Also Joe was the first one i saw when i woke up with the knot on my forehead.
