I think anything is better than 0-0. I would try that for sure.

Discussion: Others' Thoughts on the Importance or Merits of 3 Pool Games Prior to Brackets?

I think pool games are terrible, they make you take an additional day off of work, they add to the possibility of injury and they make Sundays more difficult after playing those additional games on Friday. I would prefer double elimination with a guarantee of 3 or even maybe 4 games. Much closer to what young men's ball does.

Discussion: SCREENS IN TOURNAMENTS

Not exactly sure how I feel about screens, I still play young man's ball and saw two pitchers get drilled this yr to the extent that they may never play again and have faced many doctors bills and alot of time off work. While i pitch and also understand it is part of the game, I also understand that we all need to go to work and play for the love of the game. I do think it really sucks that the guys that I know that hit middle only on purpose would never even think about pitching. They say I'm crazy for standing that close.

Discussion: Pool games....???

Valid points all, I think I would feel dif. if I was retired. But having to burn vacation days and spending the money for extra nights of hotels makes it rough just to play seeding games.

Screamer, I agree with your opinion. Don't forget the cost of having to take off another day of work and another night of hotel rooms. Entry fees could be less with a double elimination guaranteed 3 games format.

Discussion: 1 and 1 pitch count

Just my opinion, but I see no reason what so ever for there to be a 0-0 count. Make it a 1-1 count with a foul and please speed up the games. We rarely ever play 7 innings. ALOT of money is paid for shortened games at every tournament.

I think pitchers. They are the closest and don't have the luxury to play further back. Seen more pitchers get hurt bad this yr, than in yrs past.

Discussion: pitchers mask

You know, umpires do have the authority to toss batters they they feel are going middle on purpose. Saw it this yr. in a usssa tourney. Same batter 2 times in a row hit the pitcher and got tossed.

I still pitch against upper level young guys as well as senior ball, and I am now wearing the Worth helmet. Takes a little to get used to but does give you alot more confidence. Not exactly sure what I'm going to do about sunshine in my face since I'm used to wearing a hat all the time. But you can wear sunglasses with it. Hope this helps.

Discussion: Time to move TOC

I think it should be moved to November. The colder weather states haven't played since October at best and they are rusty to say the least while the warmer states get to play all year. Plus the weather would be much warmer and more cooperative.

Discussion: where are all the pitchers

Maybe when the pitcher gets drilled the batter should pitch the next inning....lol. That might make some batters think twice about going after the pitchers.

It's funny how most of the
head hunters in this game are guys who usually would never step on the mound. I pitch in the young guys game and it's the same there. The only thing you hear after you get drilled is....I didn't mean to hit you, lol, but you're the one swinging the bat and going middle all the time. Alot of guys couldn't really care less.

Discussion: place best hitters last strategy

That has to be the dumbest idea ive ever heard, why would you take the bat out of the best hitters on your team, there is a reason why the guys who hit 800+ bat in the top of the order.
If it is an average 5+ at bats per tourney I see no advantage to limit their at bats.
