Discussion: Looking for a Senior League Rule

One of the 60+ leagues that I play in has a rule that if the batter walks for any reason, he has the option to take first base or stay at the plate with a new count and have a runner inserted at first base in his place. This league ranges from rec players to Major+ players, but everyone gets a chance to swing the bat.

Dave,

The schedule for the 60+ division shows the AAA teams RECEIVING the equalizer instead of GIVING the equalizer when playing the AA teams.

Discussion: Home or Visitor?

The problem with using the runs scored as the first tie-breaker is that it penalizes the team that scores a lot of runs early and plays good defense.

A team that run-rules the opponent could be missing our on 2 or 3 offense innings in a game, thereby seriously affecting their total runs scored count.

As for running up the score, out team's goal is to score the max 5 or 7 runs allowed per inning and then add whatever possible during the open inning. We are not out to embarrass anyone, but we have seen teams score in excess of 15 runs in the bottom of the open inning to win a game, so no lead amount can be considered "enough"

Discussion: Tampa vs. Ft. Myers tournament

We played in Tampa last weekend at the SPA Winter Worlds. There were a total of 6 teams in the 50+ divisions. Looked at the Participating Teams List for the SSUSA Winter Worlds in Ft. Myers and there are close to 25 teams in the 50+ divisioni. WHY THE BIG DIFFERENCE IN ATTENDANCE? This was our first Florida tourney and we are planning on attending more in future years, just wondering what criteria is being used by people to make the selections on which of the different tourneys to attend.
