| May 20, 2008 Hoodini | Topic: Bats Discussion: Could someone elaborate on this new Combat about the end caps coming off, the combats, I call the rep for combat and informed him that our team has had 4 end caps that came off, the oldest was 10 months old and the newest 1 month, we sent one back and they had it for 4 months, saying they couldn't find dit but after several calls they found it and repaired it, it came off after 20 hits and flew by the shortstop's head, that was enough for me to find out a repair that would last, the suggestion from combat was liquid metal, not, use 3M marine adhesive sealant fast cure 4000 uv. There is quite alot of prep work if you would like info email and I can help with it. |

New Miken ultraII: These are the bats they have been selling in the last year with no warranty, They are also selling a special T.O.C. version for $230.00 with no warratny. I just got off the phone with there customer service group, notifing them of the problem with breakage for there new bat. I mention to her that who in there right mind would buy a bat that is sure to break even if you do not have Pop Eye fore arms, She mention to me that they the purchase that purchased the bat to send it back so mthey can evaluate it to see what is caused it to break. She also explained to me that the bat had been redesigned from the original in the area of the lower handle which will change the end load features, this could be the problem, I also mention to bher that unless the people selling these bats tell people to send them back who would know. After talking to her, I still am not convinced they would do anything about the bat, her main issue was that if a person didn't like the bat they would hit up against a tree and send it in for a refund or a new replacement. I hope this sheds some light on the Miken bat situation, Until Miken is ready to change there policy on the ultraII I will never buy another one of there products. P.S. I did buy a senior Combat and the world games and it takes about 200 hits on it to break in, and then it feels, swings, and performs real well to the miken, It's still not a miken people. |
